A single blood donation is one of the most selfless gifts a person can offer. In just 45–60 minutes, one act of generosity can be transformed into multiple components that may help save several lives. It’s a quiet moment of giving that can ripple outward in ways we may never see. 🩸

A study of more than 5,000 donors found that nearly 75% give blood simply to help others. Many shared that donating brings a sense of purpose, strengthens their community, and allows them to give back for the times when they or their loved ones needed help themselves.

Dak Minn Blood Bank will be closed today. Please stay safe & warm!

Out of caution for the impacts of the winter storm today, Altru will close all clinics including all those in the region and Truyu with the following exceptions:
• Procedural and surgical areas
• Altru Cancer Center
• Outpatient Dialysis in Grand Forks and Devils Lake
• Radiology at Altru Hospital
• Endoscopy
• Altru Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy

Patients also have the following options available:
• Altru’s Emergency Department at Altru Hospital
o Open 24/7
• The Express Clinic at Altru Professional Center:
o Open until 7 p.m.
• The Express Clinic in East Grand Forks
o Open until 5 p.m.

All impacted patients will be contacted to reschedule appointments or make other arrangements. If you receive a call from Altru, please answer. If you are unsure if your appointment is affected by the following closures, please call ahead. Normal operations should resume tomorrow.
