🌟October’s Maternity Unit’s Outstanding Team Member is…

…Shelby !!!🌟

Shelby is one of our NICU nurses who is also cross trained to postpartum! She helps lead our bereavement team.

Drop a comment of praise if you’ve had the joy of being cared for by her!

❤️ My mom is caring,
helpful and she likes to help kids. - Kaysen (9)

🧡 My mom helps me when i get hurt and she is the best mom and nurse. - Tate (7)

💛 My mom helps babies not get sick and not get covid- she loves her niccu babies. - Willa (5)

💚My mom snuggles me and the hospital babies. - Nellie (3)

💙 I've always been in awe of Shelby's ease and gentle way of taking care of others. She has a soft spot in her heart for babies, old people and new moms as the navigate the first few days of motherhood. I'm sure having 4 littles of her own makes her a great resource for new parents. Shelby is constantly learning about ways to help parents and improve her skills as a nurse. - Sonya (mom)

🩵 I think what makes Shelby a great nurse is her unconditional love for not just tiny babies that are in need of specialized care, but also for the moms that are in need of someone who understands how to meet those needs and how to care for the moms as well. I know that this great motherly advice that she is able to give to her patients and their special babies comes from her great ability as a loving caring mother that she carries with her daily and expresses not only in her work but her everyday life. She truly loves helping families especially those teeny tiny babes. - Judd (husband)

💜 Shelby’s kindness, dedication, and teamwork shine in everything she does. Our unit is better because of her! She consistently goes above and beyond for her patients and her coworkers. She is someone I continue to look up to and admire. Shelby exemplifies what it means to be an outstanding team member in so many ways. Congratulations Shelby, you are so deserving of this recognition! - Maria (coworker)

🩷 Shelby was one of the first nurses I met when our unit opened, and she immediately stood out for her humor, kindness, and willingness to teach. She helped introduce me to the world of NICU nursing and has been a mentor and friend ever since. Shelby is a vault of knowledge constantly growing and now pursuing her 2nd certification in maternal-child nursing. Every new project we take on, she’s the first to volunteer and always leads with positivity and purpose. From coordinating our beautiful bereavement ceremony to taking 1 of the gorgeous delivery photos that you see mounted on our L&D walls, Shelby’s passion & flexibility shines in everything she does. As a mom of 4 kiddos, she brings such genuine compassion and personal wisdom to her patient care. We are so lucky to have her as part of our work family. 🍀 - Bre (coworker)
