🦋 Honor someone special on Race Day

Commemorative butterflies are a meaningful way to recognize loved ones who have been impacted by cancer. Each butterfly is placed along the course with their name — creating a powerful and personal presence throughout Race for GRACE.

You can purchase butterflies for any course — 10K, 5K, or Celebration Walk — making it a special way to remember, honor, and celebrate those who mean so much.

• 2 butterflies — $8
• 3 butterflies — $10
• 4 butterflies — $15
• 5 butterflies — $20

⏰ 9:00 AM
📍 College Park (3180 US-34, Grand Island, NE)

🚗 Parking:
On-site parking is available at College Park & CCC lots until 8:30 AM or until full. After that, please park at Grand Island Lutheran High School and take the free shuttle to the event.

🏃 Course Options:
• Celebration Walk (approx. 1.4 miles, walking only)
• 5K (approx. 3.4 miles)
• 10K

We want your morning to be smooth and stress-free, so here’s what to know before you arrive:
👉 Enter at Tech Drive ONLY
👉 Parking lots fill north → south
👉 On-site parking (College Park & CCC) is available until 8:30 AM or until full

🚫 NO parking in the Southeast CCC lot

🚐 If lots are full, head to Grand Island Lutheran High School for overflow parking and take the free shuttle (runs ~10 mins to the event / ~20 mins back).

🚗 Traffic is one way in / one way out — follow directions from police & volunteers

🏁 After the race, exit toward Wortman Drive

Take a quick look at the map to plan your route ahead of time!

All traffic will enter at Tech Drive ONLY and exit on Wortman Drive, with traffic flowing one way in and one way out and parking lots filling from north to south. Following this plan — along with directions from police and volunteers — will help keep everything running smoothly for everyone on race day.

We’re officially 2 weeks out and getting everything ready for race day! Here’s where to park:

On-site parking is available at:
• College Park (South Lot)
• CCC (North & Southwest Lots)
These lots are open until 8:30 AM or until they’re full, so getting there early is the best way to grab a spot and start your day stress-free.

🚐 If lots are full or you’re arriving later, head to Grand Island Lutheran High School and take the free shuttle to the event — quick, easy, and gets you right where you need to be!

Planning to use the shuttle? Here’s everything you need to know to make race morning easy and stress-free.

Shuttles will run from Grand Island Lutheran High School (3900 W Husker Hwy, Grand Island, NE 68803) to College Park (3180 US-34, Grand Island, NE 68801), with drop-off at the South Lot.

• Runs about every 10 minutes to the event
• Runs about every 20 minutes returning
• Last shuttle to the race: 8:40 AM
• Last return shuttle: 11:30 AM

It’s a quick and convenient option — especially if you’re arriving later or on-site parking is full.

Kyla Bassett recently had the opportunity to present in Kearney about what GRACE Cancer Foundation is all about and the heart behind what we do. One of our biggest goals is simple but so important… making sure people know we are here.

Whether you are walking through a cancer journey yourself or know someone who is, GRACE is here to help support, encourage, and uplift.

There are so many ways to be part of this mission. You can share our posts, attend an event, make a donation, or simply tell others about us. Every action, big or small, helps us reach someone who may need it.

A 501c3 non-profit organization, GRACE Cancer Foundation was established in 2008 by Julie Pfeifer and Lisa Willman, two Grand Island, Nebraska breast cancer survivors who had a heartfelt need and desire to help local cancer patients and their families in their fight with this deadly disease. The organization was originally named The GRACE Foundation, with GRACE standing for GRand Island Area Cancer Endowment. In 2018, for the organization's 10th Anniversary, it was re-named GRACE Cancer Foundation. Julie and Lisa's hope is to provide not only emotional support, but funds available through GRACE to assist with unique financial obligations and unmet needs for those fighting ALL types of cancer. GRACE Cancer Foundation assists cancer patients who live within 40 miles of Grand Island, Nebraska, or are being treated at the Grand Island Cancer Treatment Center. Help is available through several methods, such as gas cards, assistance with medical bills, household expenses, and more. Because we know cancer doesn’t discriminate, every dollar provides helping, hoping, and healing.
