Christopher Lepisto, ND

Christopher Lepisto, ND Better health, naturally I am Doctor Christopher Lepisto. You may seek out my care for a number of reasons. You may simply want to improve your overall health.

As a naturopathic doctor, I specialize in helping the body to naturally achieve and maintain optimal health. Today, many of us develop health challenges which result from the stress of our busy lifestyle, leaving us feeling exhausted and overworked. This is a defeating experience for those of us who are accustomed to feeling strong, energetic and vibrant. I work closely with my patients to address the root cause of their health challenges, rather than simply treating the superficial symptoms. The natural solutions I provide are designed to give the body the necessary components to heal, regenerate, and operate in peak form. But you don't have to suffer from a particular condition to set a visit. I understand what your body needs for optimal function and performance throughout all stages of life. I provides unique treatments and solutions to help your body perform at its best and maintain health through the body's natural ability to create its own vitality, rather than treating symptoms with pharmaceuticals which mask the underlying problems. Naturopathy is particularly well suited for chronic conditions such as asthma, muscle pain, allergies and arthritis, as well as disorders that may have a stress- or diet-related factor, such as digestive problems, insomnia, skin disorders and fatigue. If you've never been to a naturopathic doctor before, you'll be delighted with the level of personalized care you receive. Unlike visiting an allopathic physician—where you are seen by the doctor for only a few minutes, given a prescription and sent on your way—your treatment with me will begin with a thorough health evaluation and assessment, as well as a detailed investigation of any specific health concerns which may have prompted your visit. I will continue to see you actively over the course of 5-8 weeks to measure how your body is responding to treatment, and adapt your specific treatment plan accordingly. After the initial treatment course, I will likely recommend occasional follow-up visits to ensure your body is performing at its best.

A recent large review of clinical trials of over 66,000 people demonstrated that reducing saturated fat does not provide significant reductions in heart attacks, strokes or mortality. In contrast, the evidence suggests that increasing saturated fat intake reduces the body’s need to make its own cholesterol, essential for nerve conduction, Vitamin D and hormone production like estrogen and testosterone, and creating bile acids to emulsify fats in the diet. Sometimes the evidence goes against popular opinion.

We now know that prostate dysfunction is directly associated with higher body fat, elevated insulin resistance and trackable inflammatory markers. These are all preventable and treatable with lifestyle and nutritional choices, resulting in better sexual, urinary and overall health. (credit AzureWell)

Why are some oils linked to heart disease? Highly processed oils like canola, soybean, and corn are refined in ways that can promote inflammation and contribute to vascular damage. However, condemning all seed oils overlooks traditionally processed options—such as expeller-pressed or cold-pressed sesame and sunflower oils—which have documented cardiovascular benefits. Processing matters.

Worried about your statin prescription? Lowering cholesterol and LDL lipids with statins does NOT reduce heart disease risk and these medications come with serious side effects. In contrast, the research demonstrates that people over 60 with the highest LDL levels actually had the lowest overall cardiovascular disease mortality.
