On November 1, SNAP food benefits are set to pause for more than 11,000 households in Mesa County and 3,500 households in Delta County, leaving many families to navigate sudden food insecurity. Because two in three families include a pet, this pause means many households may face the difficult choice between putting food on their own table or in their pet’s bowl.

Roice-Hurst Humane Society's Pet Pantry is here to help. Our Pet Pantry provides free pet food and supplies to anyone in need, ensuring that pets can remain cared for at home with the families who love them.

👉 GET HELP: Support is available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last at our locations in Grand Junction (362 28 Rd.) and Delta (720 W. 4th St.) during our open hours. To speed up your visit, complete the Pet Pantry form ahead of time at rhhumanesociety.org/petpantry. If you're in need of human food, find a list of resources at rhhumanesociety.org/snap.

👉 HOW YOU CAN HELP: We expect to see increased demand for our Pet Pantry, and we need our community’s support to ensure supplies remain available to those who need them. Our most needed Pet Pantry items are dry dog food, dry cat food, wet and dry kitten food, and reusable bags. You can drop off your Pet Pantry donation at Roice-Hurst, Discovery Auto Group, any ANB Bank location in Grand Junction, or Casa De Pets LLC (donate food to receive a grooming discount!) — or, send items from our Amazon Wishlist directly to the shelter. We are also grateful for monetary donations to our Animal Resource Center for purchasing high-demand Pet Pantry items as they run low. Please also support our local food banks if you are able.
