February is American Heart Month ❤️

From infancy through adolescence, heart health plays an important role in a child’s overall well-being. This month is a reminder to prioritize healthy habits, regular checkups, and conversations that support growing hearts at every stage.

A few everyday ways to support heart health in children:

• Encourage daily movement, even if it’s just play
• Offer balanced meals with fruits, vegetables, and whole grains
• Prioritize good sleep routines
• Keep up with regular wellness visits

Small habits can support healthy hearts over time.

Altitude Families,

On January 5, 2026, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced it was reducing the number of recommended immunizations for children and changing the recommended schedule.

Altitude Pediatrics is committed to following evidence-based recommendations, and we will continue to align our practice with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). There will be no practice changes to our current recommendations. The childhood immunization schedule used by the AAP has been formed over decades by leading health experts, immunologists and pediatricians who have carefully reviewed data and evidence.

Altitude Pediatrics will closely monitor any additional developments and work with our partners to understand any further impacts. As always, talk to your provider about any questions you may have at your next visit!
