October is SIDS Awareness Month. A reminder of how precious and fragile early life can be. At Altitude, we stand alongside parents, caregivers, and health professionals working to better understand and prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Awareness begins with conversation. This month, we encourage families to talk openly with their provider about safe sleep environments, sleep positioning, and what current research tells us about reducing risk.

Together, we can continue to create safer spaces for every baby to grow and thrive.

😴October is National Safe Sleep Awareness Month.

👶Help baby sleep safe every time by keeping pillows, blankets, toys, and stuffed animals out of baby’s sleep space.

If you have an abundance of Milk and want to donate please call Mothers' Milk Bank to get set up and then call me to set up a time to drop off your milk! Thanks in advance for your support and we appreciate every ounce that we get for our babies!

"At 33 weeks pregnant, I was diagnosed with placenta previa complicated by preeclampsia, and one week later, I delivered my daughter via C-section. She was rushed to the NICU because she was having difficulty breathing, starting on C-PAP and eventually going home on a small amount of oxygen. Because of her prematurity, she couldn’t latch, so I began exclusively pumping. During those first days, donor milk in the NICU gave me peace of mind, knowing she was still getting the nourishment she needed. Over time, I became an oversupplier and, with the guidance of a lactation consultant, decided to become a milk donor myself. Having received donor milk when my daughter needed it most, now giving back to another family feels like the most meaningful way I can say thank you." —Donor Amanda

We are so grateful to Amanda for sharing her story and for becoming a milk donor. If you have extra milk, you can make a life-changing difference for NICU babies and their families — helping provide nourishment, comfort, and hope when it’s needed most. Visit: milkbankcolorado.org.

Today, on Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, we honor families who have experienced the unimaginable.

We also want to give special recognition to the bereaved parents who make the selfless choice to become milk donors. Many bereaved parents choose to donate their milk as a way to honor their baby’s life and create a lasting legacy of love. Their gift helps fragile infants thrive, bringing light to other families in moments of great need, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

At Mothers' Milk Bank, we stand with grieving families and hold deep respect for the donors who transform their loss into life-giving hope for others.

If you or someone you know has considered donation after loss, please know that support and understanding are here. Learn more at milkbankcolorado.org.

Mothers’ Milk Bank offers and encourages the use of donor human milk for ALL infants who need it. Donor human milk is often described as a “bridge” between birth and breastfeeding, protecting babies from illness and infection. It is normal for some mothers to experience a delay in breast milk, and purchasing donor human milk from Mothers’ Milk Bank is a safe option for these moms. http://ow.ly/bUbg50K0hE5

Swinging, bouncing and lounging can be soothing for a baby, but it’s not safe for sleeping. Put your baby to sleep on a firm surface that does not incline and has no soft pillows, blankets or toys. https://bit.ly/3xpzNR5

Babies should always sleep alone in their crib or bassinet. Remove all toys, pillows, blankets and crib bumpers. https://bit.ly/3xpzNR5
