Strive STRiVE has been serving Mesa County residents for over 50 years.

Offering a variety of services to help families and support individuals with developmental disabilities. STRiVE's Mission
STRiVE provides an array of person centered, community-based services and supports that assist people with developmental disabilities to achieve their fullest potential. STRiVE provides programs in an atmosphere that fosters self-esteem and confidence, and enhances each person’s opportunity for independence and growth. STRiVE is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors composed of consumers and family members, as well as human service and business professionals. STRiVE is funded primarily (80%) through the Colorado Department of Human Services and fees from disability payments, with supplemental funding from Mesa County, private donors and grants. Don’t miss your chance to experience the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens glowing with incredible illuminated pumpkin sculptures — including creations from Food Network’s Halloween Wars carvers.

The gardens are alive with color, light, and artistry — and it all wraps up tonight and tomorrow.

Our team and talented carvers are hard at work setting up the lights, displays, and pumpkins to bring the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens to life for this year’s event. 🍂🎃

Meet our carvers for Fall at the Gardens: Harvest Illuminated - David Smith!

David is the owner of FROST LION Ice Plus and is a world-renowned artist, skilled in multiple mediums. His talent encompasses ice, sand, and pumpkins, transforming each material into breathtaking works of art. David's exceptional ice sculpting has earned him numerous medals, and he continually pushes the boundaries of what can be achieved.

He has showcased his creations at prestigious competitions, both nationally and internationally, earning recognition for their stunning detail and imaginative design. A veteran of several Food Network shows, he most recently demonstrated his remarkable ability on this season's Halloween Wars! 👻🔥

Keith is a Colorado-based artist and the owner of Snice Carvings LLC, where he specializes in creating massive, detailed snow and ice sculptures. His work has been featured at festivals and competitions across the country, where his ability to turn frozen mediums into expressive works of art has earned wide recognition.

As one of the original carvers for Harvest Illuminated, Keith brings both skill and generosity of spirit to the event each year. We’re truly grateful for his continued commitment and the artistry he shares with our community.

Ryan is a local carver who brings creativity and flair to Harvest Illuminated with his intricate pumpkin sculptures, each one carefully crafted to delight and inspire visitors.

Beyond pumpkins, Ryan showcases his skills on a much larger scale by creating stunning ice sculptures for Ice Alaska, transforming blocks of ice into shimmering, detailed works of art.

Jamie is a pastry chef, artist, and owner of Sugarnova Cakes, known for her incredible creativity and talent across multiple mediums — from cake design to pumpkin, sand, and even snow carving!

A returning favorite at Harvest Illuminated, Jamie brings her signature artistry and energy back to the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens, where her glowing pumpkin sculptures never fail to impress.
