Do you have a hard time saying no?

Maybe you agree to things you don’t really have the time or energy for.
Maybe you feel guilty even thinking about turning something down.

You’re not alone.

Our newest blog, The People Pleaser, talks about why we overextend ourselves, how it affects our mental health, and why setting boundaries is actually a form of self-care.

Saying no doesn’t make you selfish. Sometimes it just means you’re being honest about your limits.

Our newest blog, The People Pleaser, explores why we overextend ourselves, how it affects our mental health, and why setting boundaries is a form of self-care.

We had a chance to walk through our future Orchard Mesa home this week! Renovations are underway and it is still very much a work in progress, but it is exciting to see the space starting to take shape.
We are grateful to the GJ Business Incubator Center for welcoming us in their space while we serve Orchard Mesa in the meantime.
CEC has always believed healing happens best in places that feel safe and welcoming. We are looking forward to continuing that work in Orchard Mesa in a space that truly feels like home.

Board Spotlight: Sheila Reiner, Treasurer

The Counseling and Education Center is guided by a dedicated board of directors who bring lived experience and a deep commitment to community wellbeing. This month, we are highlighting board treasurer Sheila Reiner.

"I joined CEC’s board at the encouragement of a friend, and they were absolutely right about how deeply I would connect with the mission.

From navigating family transitions as a young mom to leaning on counseling through different stages of life and career, Sheila understands firsthand the impact of accessible, quality mental health care."

Her perspective and leadership help ensure CEC continues showing up for individuals, families, and our community.
