The American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology states that over half of illnesses are caused or aggravated by indoor air.
The U.S. Department of Energy estimates that improving indoor air would reduce sick leave, lower healthcare costs, and increase performance. Their projected productivity gains: 30 to 150 billion dollars annually.
Meanwhile, research from UCLA found that chemicals in common cleaning products have been associated with reproductive toxicity. Approximately 22% of sampled products contained suspected carcinogens.
Traditional cleaning practices can make the problem worse. Improper dust collection can pollute indoor air with contaminants linked to chronic headaches, sinus congestion, sore throat, asthma, and fatigue.
Green cleaning takes a different approach. Products without toxic fumes. Ultra high filtration vacuums. Dust collection that does not put contaminants back into the air.
