Hi, I’m Isha, your holistic therapist, and here is your Rooted Function Somatic Reset for the Emotional Body, Video 3.

In ™ framework, the emotional body holds the feelings that your nervous system has not yet processed. When you are in a hard conversation and those feelings start to take over, that is your emotional body signaling that it needs support before you can move forward.

The first thing you can do is say I need a moment. That is not avoidance. That is regulation. Naming that you need to pause is your nervous system already doing the work.

Then you settle before you try to solve anything.

Joe Corley, M.Ed, LPC teaches us to Orient yourself in the room. Notice where you are, what is around you, and let your body register that you are safe right now. Take a full inhale and let your exhale be longer than your inhale. That longer exhale is what signals your nervous system to come down.

Once you are regulated, you come back. That is when you can speak your feelings clearly and name the impact of what happened without your body running the conversation.
Settle before you solve.

Join Joe for the RESET Retreat happening June 2026, men need a RESET too 🙌🏾

Emotional Body | Somatic Reset Series | Video 2

Your feelings aren’t the problem. Getting stuck in them is.
In this video, we’re going deep into the emotional body — what it is, why feelings get trapped in the body, and what’s actually keeping you from moving through them.

We cover:
🌬️ The power of breath to complete the stress response
🔄 The Complete Circuit Breathing Scan — breath travels in from the navel, up the spine, across the forehead, down the arms, down the legs, all the way to the feet — scanning for pain, tension, and areas holding stress
💪🏾 Progressive Muscle Relaxation to help your nervous system finish what it started
🔥 Why so many men exit their emotions through anger — and what gets buried underneath it
Special guest Joe Corley of The Real U Counseling joins the conversation — working with men and couples to go beneath the surface of what anger is covering.

Rooted Function Somatic Reset: Emotional Body | Video 1

In this video, we’re breaking down what the Emotional Body is and how your feelings impact your daily functioning, choices, and relationships.

🌸 For my ladies:
Try this somatic check-in: name the feeling, notice where you sense it in your body, and add one moment of gratitude for how your body communicates with you.

🖤 For my gentlemen:
Joe Corley, LPC of The Real U Counseling, is talking about why “performing” keeps you from regulating and truly connecting. Here are 3 signs you may be performing instead of feeling:

1. You say “I’m good” or “I’m fine” while your body feels tight, restless, or heavy.

2. You focus on looking strong and in control instead of naming what’s actually happening inside.

3. You avoid quiet moments or emotions that make you feel vulnerable, staying busy or “on” instead.

🌱 Stay tuned for this 5-part series on understanding and resetting the emotional body through the Rooted Function framework.

Your thoughts are not just in your head. They live in your body.
Every thought you think activates a physiological response. Your nervous system does not know the difference between a memory and a present-moment threat.

So when your mind loops, your body loops with it — tension, shutdown, hypervigilance, numbing. That is not weakness. That is biology doing exactly what it was designed to do.

The Thought Body Loop guide walks you through exactly how this works and what to do about it. Grab it at HoneyBeNatural.com/books.

And if you are ready to go deeper with a licensed holistic somatic therapist, current openings are: every other Thurs. at 4 PM
every Tues. at 5 PM
every other Wed. at 5:30 PM
Fridays at 1:30 PM

Rumination pulls you into the past. Worry drags you into the future. And your nervous system responds to both like they are happening right now.

That is the thought body loop, and it is one of the most overlooked reasons people stay stuck in overthinking.
I created a $7 guide to help you actually understand what is happening in your body when your mind won’t stop.

Inside you will find real tools you can use to stop the overthinking cycle, processing questions to help you go deeper with yourself, and a framework for building your own resource plan so you know exactly what to reach for when it starts.

Rooted Function Somatic RESET | Cognitive Body (Video 4 of 5)
When your thoughts won’t turn off, your cognitive body needs sensation more than more thinking.
In today’s reset, we’re using simple tools to cool the mind and soften the edges:
• Eye socket and eyebrow massage to release forehead tension
• Breath work set to classical music to slow looping thoughts
• V-arms that cross into a hug so your body remembers it’s held
• Ice on the eyebrows and wrists to cool an overheated nervous system
• And “ice cream for the internal” as a playful reminder to soften from the inside out 🍦
Save this to come back any time your brain is doing too much.
The full 5-part Rooted Function Somatic RESET series for the Cognitive Body is on the HoneyBeNatural Institute YouTube playlist.

When clients learn to center themselves through mindfulness and groundedness, something remarkable happens — they begin to access the hard-to-reach places within.

These practices empower clients to pause, breathe, and connect to their inner landscape as emotions rise. Rather than being swept away by looping thoughts or old patterns, they gain the tools to notice, name, and nurture their internal experience in real time.

This is the foundation of true nervous system awareness — the kind that transforms reactivity into clarity and helps healing unfold moment by moment. 🌿

I am everything that I think I am.
The spring equinox is a new year to me. A reset. And what I am learning is that rest is not the opposite of expansion — rest is what makes room for it.

For me rest does not look like one thing. Some days it looks like a long workday followed by full stillness on the other side of it.

It looks like integrating somatic practice into the core of my existence as a nonnegotiable, not a reward. It looks like having a full catalog of breathwork strategies ready when my body calls for regulation. It looks like pulling over on the side of the road to move through a Kemetic Yoga and Qigong flow just because it looks and feels good.

It looks like cleaning my space to move stagnant energy out of my environment and out of myself at the same time.

Rest is not taking anything away from you. It is building the capacity to hold more.

What does rest look like for you right now?

Here is your Rooted Function Somatic Reset for the cognitive body: this is video 3 of our 5-part series.

Today we’re talking about titration. This is the gentle practice of meeting distressing thoughts or sensations in small, manageable doses so your nervous system can safely release and recover. This mindful pacing helps the body reset, build resilience, and return to grounded presence after deep cognitive or emotional processing. 🌿

The cognitive, physical, and emotional bodies are powerful entry points for healing, but they’re not the full story.
True integration asks us to move beyond fragments and attend to the whole being. This is where the deeper work begins within the rooted, functional awareness that honors each layer of self as interconnected.

This is why HoneyBeNatural Institute exists. Our Holistic Practitioner Diploma Programs are designed to equip practitioners to facilitate healing that’s not just functional,
but truly embodied.

In today’s Rooted Function Somatic RESET practice, I show you how a thought becomes a loop and how that loop becomes a wound in the nervous system—and we practice pendulation together: moving between a neutral sensation and an activated one so your body learns it doesn’t have to stay stuck.
