Did you know that I have online offerings?
They come in the form of two distinct opportunities. The first is Mindfulness Meditation, and the second is Clean Language Facilitation. Both of these are offered either in person or over zoom so you can engage with them from the comforts of your own home. In case you're new to either of these, lets break them down real briefly.
1. Mindfulness meditation is an awareness practice which helps us become more familiar with our own minds and reality as a whole. It also helps us be more present and less consumed by our thoughts so we can *actually* settle into what's unfolding in front of us - even if it's challenging.
What's cool is that it's an ancient practice that's been transmitted from teacher to student in an unbroken chain that goes back some 2600 years - to the the time of the historic Buddha. Don't worry though, you don't need to be a Buddhist to engage with it, you simply need to have a sense of curiosity and genuine interest in exploring your mind. The benefits are:
- A pathway to becoming unconditionally friendly toward yourself
- Increased sense of resilience, stability, and clarity when confronting life's challenges
- A more regulated and balanced nervous system
- More curiosity and less reactivity
- A deepening sense of real grounded moment to moment presence
- More spacious (not spacey) qualities of mind. As in, not so overwhelmed by excessive thinking.
I've been certified to teach mindfulness since 2020 and have recently taken on a few students which has been an absolute treat. I've worked with a team of teachers for six years and have a committed and flourishing daily practice. I am very confident that I can help you establish yourself in this practice and defuse any potential hang-ups that may arise on the way!
2. Clean Language is a mind-body practice that allows our thinking minds an open space to have a conversation with our felt sensations. It was developed primarily for treating anxiety, trauma, and other mental health challenges - but has gone on to be used in professional development, artmaking, and just about every other coaching modality. The way that I incorporate it into my work is by having my clients focus their attention on a physical sensation. We then use the clean protocol to explore that sensation, which naturally takes the client on a journey into the interconnectivity of their mind, body, and emotions. The protocol is a very simple series of questions that creates a 'clean' space in that they're very open ended and free from any of my bias or judgement. This creates a sort of linguistic mirror that the clients can use to see more clearly the topography of their inner life.
It's really something that needs to be experienced. It's tremendously helpful, inspiring, and insightful. Some of the benefits are
- New connections between our thoughts, feelings, and sensations
- New potential pathways towards injury recovery and emotional stabilization
- Client generated resources to help navigate uncertainty and tensions
- Oftentimes an immediate sense of relief
- Self understanding and discovery
- A deeper embodied appreciation for the intelligence of the body
Both of these are available in person and virtually through the Zoom platform. I'd love to work with you if you're feeling the pull in this direction so don't hesitate to reach out. If money is a thing, which it is for a lot of people, just let me know and I'm sure we can work out a pricing model that works for you. Take care!
