🌕✨ Full Moon Check-in
Some of my favorite things about winter are the quiet the snow brings, how fresh the air feels, and how much ease a deep breath outside can bring. Let’s check-in!

Let yourself wander through this gentle quest of questions and affirmations. Choose the ones that resonate most with you. Leave the rest.

💫 Journal Prompts
What did my body ask for most often this year?
Where in my life do I feel most regulated, grounded, or at ease?
What is one small way I can tend to myself consistently?
How can I recognize when I need rest instead of effort?
What does my body need to feel supported as this year begins?

💫 Affirmations
I enter this year listening to my body and honoring its wisdom.
I am allowed to move slowly and still move forward.
I welcome growth that feels supportive and sustainable.
I am open to receiving support.

Over the next few days, invite moments of stillness in. Sit in silence, let yourself reflect, and simply listen. Save this check-in for your next moonlit evening, and feel free to share with me what comes up for you.

Tonight at Reconnect Within: Breathe | Move | Restore

We said cheers to a New Year with a little bevy from

We reflected on things we learned, things we’re grateful for, and positive words to guide us forward

We took deep breaths! Soooo many deep breaths

We had many lovely people gather, including TWO mother daughter duos

We found some movement to work out tension in the body

And of course enjoyed a long rest!

Cheers to another year! Go to the link in my bio if you want to join in for next week’s session. Lots of fun to be had!

As we turn the page to another year, it creates a great opportunity to check in with your goals, be proud of progress you’ve made, see if any need to be left behind, and make space for some fresh ones. Many of my current goals are ongoing to help create a vision of the kind of life I want to lead. Sometimes it’s not about the destination, and (even though checking something off a to do list feels great) sometimes life needs less to do-ing.

My current life goals include:
Continue to move at a pace that supports family.
Continue to offer attainable and affordable services and events for all.
Continue to connect to community members that need support.
Continue to grow my career, so I will be able to support more community members.
Continue to build a network of supporters that encourage growth, balance, and happiness.
Continue to nourish myself by eating whole food, enjoying self care rituals, and finding mindful movement.

What WELLNESS means to me:
Wellness is the act of practicing healthy habits on a daily basis to attain an elevated physical, mental, and spiritual outcomes; so that instead of surviving, you’re thriving. Finding balance within from all of the elements. Reflecting inward to find peace.

Check out my post from Monday for a New Years check-in! ✨

The new year doesn’t need to be rushed in. It can be welcomed slowly. Let's take a break!

Before setting intentions for the New Year ahead, making more plans or saying yes to commitments that you want to say no to, try this grounding breathing practice:

Find a comfortable seat, and begin to soften the edges of your breath. Let the belly relax and expand as you breathe.

Inhale through your nose for a count of 3-4
Exhale for a count of 5-6

Continue to soften the body and the breath, and continue with your extended exhale practice.

Now, we can dive deeper into this check-in.

When you feel ready, take a quiet moment to reflect:
• What am I ready to leave behind?
• What do I want more of this year?
• What kind of support do I need in this next season?

There’s no rush to have answers.

Do you need more support? Consider setting up a Coaching Consult to set the tone for your New Year. Go to willowwoodswellnessllc.com to learn more.

Each week we will gather for a soothing journey. We will enjoy breath work, a slow-flow yoga practice that moves with intention and ease, and wind down with restorative postures and a long Savasana to rest and digest. This class is perfect for those seeking calm, clarity, and to reconnect with themselves. Bring your blanket, layers, and intention.

The virtual world feels full of attention grabbing items, and my wish is for this post to be a break from that. After all, the winter season invites all of us to find rest and reflection. There’s no rush here. Just an invitation to pause, breathe, and check in. Below you’ll find a few simple practices to support you between now and your next self‑care session. Enjoy what resonates and leave the rest.

~Simple 1:2 Breathing Practice (3–5 minutes)
This breath supports your nervous system and encourages relaxation. I invite you to find a comfortable seat. Let yourself soften the breath and the body.

Inhale slowly through the nose for 3-4 counts.
Exhale gently through the nose or mouth for 6-8 counts.
Continue for a few rounds, letting the exhale soften your jaw, shoulders, and belly.
If counting feels effortful, simply allow the exhale to be about twice as long as the inhale.

~Winter Solstice Journal Reflections

Where in my life am I being asked to slow down?
What nourishes me most during the winter?
What calming activities do I want to plan and protect this winter?
How do you want to show up this winter?

~Seasonal Affirmations
Repeat softly or write them down.

I honor rest as a meaningful and necessary practice.
I trust the wisdom of slowing down.
I am allowed to soften and receive support.
I move at the pace of the season, not the world.

~Simple Self‑Care Invitations

Create a nightly dim‑light ritual. Think candles, lamps, or soft lighting to signal rest to your nervous system. Option to even turn your TV and phone off!

Warm the body daily. Enjoy herbal tea, broth, extra layers, or a warm shower before bed.

Protect one pocket of quiet. Carve out even 5–10 minutes of stillness, allowing your system to settle.

FAQ: What can I expect from a Thai Yoga Bodywork session?
✨ Curious about your first Thai Yoga Bodywork (TYB) session? Here’s what you can expect!

1️⃣ Where to find Willow
Willow shares a welcoming and warm space with Isabel Jade Beauty LLC! Located on Hwy 2 next to Gunnerson Chiropractic, and Foundations of Health. Look for our grey building and you will find Willow’s sign!
📍 1325 NW 4th St #100, Grand Rapids, MN 55744

2️⃣ Before your Session
You are welcome to arrive a few minutes early to fill out your intake form. This gives me a chance to learn how you’re feeling (physically, mentally, and emotionally) so I can customize your session just for you.

3️⃣ What to Wear
TYB is a fully clothed practice, so come comfy! Yoga pants or sweatpants work great, and I always recommend layers to stay cozy: think sweatshirts, flannels, or even your favorite fuzzy socks 🧦✨

4️⃣ Where we Practice
Sessions take place in a private treatment room on a comfy Thai Futon (you may have seen it in my posts!). The futon supports you and helps protect my body as I work, so we can both feel grounded and comfortable.

5️⃣ How the Session Flows
For a Full Body Session, we usually start with you lying on your back, and I begin at the feet and work up toward the head. Depending on your needs, you may also spend time side-lying, face down, or even seated, with props available for support and comfort.

💚 Ready to experience it for yourself? Head to willowoodswellnessllc.com to Claim Your Spot. I can’t wait to hold space for you!
