Turned 55 this year! I decided to try and step outta my comfort zone. Haven’t thrown the shot put or discus for over 37 years… until I heard about the Meijer state games and decided to give it a shot. Hit the gym and worked toward the goal of competing. Set some goals of your own, dream it, do it!! Won my age group in both events (shot and discus). Qualified for the national state games next year! Thanks to my team, I got adjusted, massaged and most of all supported by my family (it was interesting being coached by my son and not coaching him) as always thank you Karen for your cheers and encouragement.
