After more than 47 years of caring for patients and supporting her teammates, Patty Gustafson is retiring with a heart full of gratitude and a legacy woven through decades of service.
From her earliest days in 1977 through many roles and changes across the years, Patty witnessed the evolution of healthcare firsthand. In her reflections, she shared deep appreciation for the dedication of her coworkers, the cooperation between departments, and the professional integrity, honesty, and trust that defined her workplace. She is thankful for the leaders who guided the hospital through challenging times and ensured staff had the training, equipment, and support needed to provide excellent care.
Patty described her career as “a wonderful, varied career, caring for others together,” and leaves with a mindset she treasures: “we are just walking each other home.” In retirement, she looks forward to spending time with family and grandchildren, traveling, gardening, quilting, and remaining active in her church all while continuing to care for others along the way.
Thank you, Patty, for 47+ years of compassion, teamwork, and service. Your impact will be felt for generations. 💚
