The 5th annual Scott Olson Memorial 5k run, walk, or ride is Saturday, July 22nd, at Ryan Park in LaPrairie, MN.

Scott Olson was diagnosed with Blastomycosis in August of 2019 and passed away on October 4th, 2019. He loved to run and participate in local races. A family friend held the first memorial 5k in Olson’s honor to assist his family with financial costs while he was in the hospital. The family decided to continue the tradition and hold the run annually.

Now, proceeds from the event are awarded to a local student as a scholarship through the Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation. The past recipients of the award were: Sydnee Goodrich (2020), Baylie Norris (2021), Zoe Zuehlke (2022), and Ruize Xu (2023).

The cost to participate is $30 (register before June 28th to receive a t-shirt). On-site registration for the 2023 5k starts at 8 a.m. with a start time of 9 a.m. Breakfast provided by the City of LaPrairie, including pancakes, sausage, and fruit, will be provided to participants immediately following the 5k.

HELP WANTED - MEDICAL INTAKE SPECIALIST

The Medical Intake Specialist will provide support to all departments performing a variety of duties as needed. Must be flexible and able to multi-task. This will include, but not limited to: file and retrieve patient charts, answering the phones, maintaining the sales floor, entering patient information, checking insurance, auditing client charts, and clerical support to billing and administration.

Must be detailed oriented, polite, reliable and cooperative team member.
This is a full-time position Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Administrative Duties:
- Answering and routing phone calls
- Greeting walk-ins
- Scheduling
- Faxing paperwork
