Mark your calendar — Sunday, September 21, 2025 — for the 10th Annual Chris Kegel Slow Roll Bike Ride & Celebration in Milwaukee! Put on by

TerraTrike is proud to sponsor this free, family-friendly 10-mile ride along the scenic lakefront, and we can’t wait to see you there.

💚 Why This Ride Matters

When word spread that Chris Kegel was terminally ill, his friends and family honored him the best way they knew how — by riding. Within one week, more than 1,000 people came together for the very first Slow Roll in 2016. The slogan was simple: “The More the Merrier.”

Since then, this annual event has been about more than cycling. It’s about community, inclusion, and celebrating Chris’s legacy of bringing people together on two (and three!) wheels.

📍 Start: War Memorial Parking Lot, Downtown Milwaukee
⏰ 9:00am – Meet up & T-shirt pickup
📸 10:00am – Line up at Veterans Park for the official ride start & aerial photo

🚲✨ You’ve Been Riding Your Trike — Now What? ✨🚲

You’ve been logging miles, loving the ride, and maybe even giving your trike a nickname. 🙌 The best part? Unlike cars or motorcycles, there’s no strict “break-in” period. You can ride it hard and enjoy it from day one. 🎉

But here’s the truth 👉 As your trike settles in, a few small tweaks might be needed to keep it running like new:

🔧 Brakes

If your levers start pulling back further before braking kicks in, don’t worry — it’s normal cable stretch.

Quick fix: turn the barrel adjuster (at the lever) out a little at a time until your brakes feel crisp again.

⚙️ Shifting

Hear clicking or notice sloppy gear changes? That’s also just cable stretch.

Quick fix: use the barrel adjuster on your shifter housing — tiny quarter turns at a time — until shifting is smooth.

💡 Pro Tip: If adjustments still don’t feel right, your local bike shop can fine-tune things in no time.

So relax — nothing major, just part of your trike “settling in.” A couple of quick tweaks and you’ll be back to enjoying the ride. 🚴‍♀️💨
