The answer was always yes.
But the problem wasn’t the answer — it was the access.
Those therapists existed, but their visibility was low and the tools to find them were few.
So, we built something.
Mental Health Clinicians of Color in Grand Rapids.
Small. Local. Ours. Focused on mental health and expanding access for communities of color right here in Grand Rapids.
Fast forward six years.
The name has changed. The mission hasn’t — but it’s grown.
We’ve seen how critical it is to not only expand this work beyond Grand Rapids and across Michigan, but to widen our reach to include wellness in all its forms.
Our work is still rooted in making culturally affirming care easier to find — and easier to trust — for Black, Asian, African, Indigenous, Latine, and other marginalized communities.
And for the providers who serve them too.
