Clark Retirement Community

Clark Retirement Community Offering quality senior living, freedom from the responsibilities of home maintenance, and the security of an on-site continuum of care.

Clark was founded in 1906 through a generous donation by Melvin and Emily Clark. We started as a home for retired Methodist ministers. Over the years, we’ve grown and evolved, but delivering compassionate care to our residents remains core to who we are. Today, Clark is an ecumenical community, welcoming people from all walks of life and all faith backgrounds. We are a nonprofit Life Plan Community and home to nearly 500 residents. We employ over 400 people committed to serving older adults.

Boots, beats, and a whole lot of spirit 👢

The IL Clarkettes brought the energy with a special line dancing performance for our Assisted Living residents at, and they did not disappoint!

From synchronized steps to big smiles, it was a toe-tapping afternoon that had everyone clapping along. Nothing better than neighbors sharing their talents and bringing joy across the community.

Cold days call for warm kitchens and even warmer memories. 🫐🥞

Memory Care at Franklin has been busy cooking up something special. We celebrated Blueberry Pancake Day by whipping up (and enjoying!) homemade blueberry pancakes. Residents also rolled up their sleeves to help create a delicious 7-layer dip.

From stirring and layering to tasting and sharing, these hands-on moments spark conversation, connection, and the joy of creating something together.

Keller Lake also brought the Olympic spirit home with their own version of the Games, complete with friendly competition, team pride, and plenty of cheering from the sidelines.

From impressive performances to gold-medal moments, our residents proved that strength, determination, and fun have no age limit. Who says the Olympics only happen every four years?

Choice. Purpose. Community. 🍽️

At Clark, Montessori dining is more than a meal, it’s an experience. Residents take an active role in setting the table, serving one another, and engaging in meaningful conversation, creating a warm and familiar rhythm to the day.

It’s amazing how something as simple as sharing a meal can spark connection, confidence, and a true sense of belonging.

Going for gold at Clark! 🥇

In the spirit of the Olympics, our Franklin campus hosted its very own Javelin Throwing competition, and let’s just say, things got competitive fast!

With impressive throws in both divisions, we proudly crowned champions in the men’s and women’s events. Strength, skill, and a whole lot of fun made this one for the record books. Who’s ready for the next event? 🏅

Flowers, friends, and a little floral flair 🌸✨

Romence Gardens & Greenhouses visited our Keller Lake campus with buckets of beautiful fresh blooms, and our residents turned them into stunning take-home arrangements of their own.

Creativity was in full bloom, and so were the smiles. There’s nothing like fresh flowers and a hands-on project to brighten the day and bring everyone together. 💐

Love was shared in the sweetest way at Clark this Valentine’s Day 💕

Our Independent Living residents wrote heartfelt (and candy-filled!) cards to our Memory Care neighbors, who opened them while enjoying chocolate-covered strawberries. 💌

It was a simple, beautiful reminder that life at Clark is all about connection, kindness, and community.
