Members of the Heartlinks Clinical Team enjoyed connecting with nursing students at the Columbia Basin Community College Nursing Career Fair. Our staff shared insights into hospice care, answered thoughtful questions, and talked about the meaningful, compassionate work we do every day.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn more about hospice care, and to Columbia Basin Community College for inviting us to be part of the fair. If you’re interested in joining our team, view current openings here:

Heartlinks is Seeking a Community Voice - Maybe Yours?

We’re looking for someone to join our Board of Directors who knows and loves this community. You don’t need board experience. You don’t need a certain title. What matters most is that you care about compassionate end-of-life care and want to help shape the future of Heartlinks services.

At Heartlinks, we believe leadership comes from lived experience, empathy, and a commitment to service. If you’ve got a heart for the mission, we’d be honored to talk with you.

💬 Know someone who should be at the table? Tag them or message us.
📅 Our next board training is February 6 from 1:00–3:00 PM.

Let’s make sure the board reflects the people we serve. 💜

January is a time to reflect on who you’ve been and set intentions for who you’re becoming.

It’s also been 5 years since COVID, when many people created or updated their wills during a time of uncertainty. If that was you, now is a natural moment to revisit it.

Future You will thank you. 🤍

Experts recommend reviewing your will every 3–5 years, or after major life changes. Even a quick check-in helps ensure your wishes, and the people and causes closest to your heart, are still protected.

Through Heartlinks’ partnership with FreeWill, you can create or update your will in about 20 minutes while being free, secure, and easy.

A small step today can bring peace of mind for years to come.

Not all volunteering looks the same.

Volunteers support our mission in many meaningful ways, offering companionship, helping behind the scenes, or supporting our thrift stores, Hospice Benefit Shops (Hobs).

Each role helps create comfort, dignity, and connection for patients, families, and our community.

Curious what volunteering could look like for you?

The new year can feel heavy, hopeful, or a little bit of both.
Some of us are celebrating, while others are grieving, caregiving, or carrying burdens that the world doesn’t always see.

At Heartlinks, we don’t just hold space, we provide care, support, and guidance for every heart that needs it. Through hospice, and palliative care to grief programs and caregiver resources, we help you navigate both the challenges and the quiet moments of the season.

As we step into 2026, may you find not only comfort and connection but also the small joys that make your heart light. A shared memory, a warm hand, a gentle word; the everyday moments that are the silver linings that remind us life still holds love, hope, and laughter.

On this quiet Christmas Eve, beneath the soft and starry glow,
Some gifts aren’t wrapped in ribbons, tied with bows or placed just so.
They shine within the quiet—
A midnight check for needed care,
A blanket pulled up gently,
A kind voice in the midnight air.

A hand held in stillness is a gift only you can give,
And caregivers offering these show what it means to truly live.
Your love lights up the evening in a warm and tender way.
You are deeply appreciated on this gentle Christmas Day.

And for the chair left empty, where a loved one used to be,
Holding memories like ornaments upon a cherished tree.
May their love feel ever near you, in the hush of Christmas night,
Wrapping softly ’round your heart,
Like a comforting, familiar light.

May peace and tender comfort find your heart and stay tonight.

If you or someone you care about is grieving this holiday season, presence matters more than perfect words.

A quiet message. A specific invitation. Help with practical tasks. Space when it’s needed.

We’ve shared some guidance for supporting someone through grief and resources for when extra support is helpful.

For people grieving a loss, the holidays aren’t always joyful. Traditions shift. Familiar routines feel heavier. Learn how to navigate the holidays with grief.
