I frequently work with both women and men who continue to beat themselves up over choices made in childhood. Many of these decisions were made while doing what was necessary to survive.

You are not too much. You are not difficult, annoying, a burden, or a problem. You were a child, figuring out how to survive in a world that did not support you as you deserved.
