Having trouble medicating your pets? Let us at Rivertown Compounding Pharmacy share some expert tips to help make the process easier and less stressful for both you and your furry friend.

• Trim your pet’s nails before giving them medication to avoid any accidental scratches.
• For liquid medication, administer small squirts, allowing your pet time to swallow each one.
• Always wear gloves when applying topical medication to ensure safety for both you and your pet.
• For feline friends, doses of 10ml or less can be given directly between the teeth and cheek using a syringe.
• Another area to give liquid is through the gap just behind the canine teeth where the syringe tip fits.
• When administering medication, gently hold your pet’s head with one hand or cradle it with your hand under their neck for stability.
