It is becoming increasingly more common to treat TMJ (TMD), facial pain, and headaches with Botulinum toxin (BOTOX®). BOTOX® is a powerful muscle relaxant with few side effects, making it perfect for patients who have jaws that clench, lock, or contribute to headaches and migraines.

BOTOX® helps relax the muscles in your jaw to reduce the intensity and number of times you bite down and clench, which in turn can help with headaches and migraines, jaw stiffness, pain and clicking. During the 3-4 months after you’ve had injections, your masseters will exert a lower amount of force than normal giving that symptomatic relief.
