Beyond Zen Studio is Michiana’s integrative health and wellness studio, providing natural solutions to your health. We empower our clients and patients with the tools that they need to become physically, emotionally, and mentally strong through igniting the body’s natural ability to heal itself using Acupuncture, Pilates, Yoga, and Massage. Our Pilates and Yoga staff comes from a very diverse background -- some have dance backgrounds, some are certified in contemporary Pilates style, and some are certified in classical Pilates style. This diversity and expansive knowledge is key to the success of our Pilates program. The Pilates instructors blend their certifications and expertise to develop the most dynamic programs possible for each and every one of their clients. This includes customizing programs to meet the specific client needs, from rehab patients to elite athletes. We offer multiple Yoga types, including Hot Yoga, for all ages with an equally qualified group of instructors. Please welcome Julia to our tribe!

Julia is a massage therapist with over 18 years of practice in the field of bodywork. She specializes in crafting personalized sessions, using a diverse array of techniques to ensure a unique and effective experience for each person she works with. Her goal is to facilitate enduring positive change by addressing soft tissue entrapments and adhered tissues throughout the body.

Julia trained at Blue Heron Academy of Healing Arts and Sciences, completing an extensive education in medical manual therapy in 2007. She draws on many modalities to create each session, including gentle deep tissue work, sports massage, myofascial release techniques, trigger point therapy, medical massage protocol, and prenatal massage.

Beyond her bodywork pursuits, Julia holds a B.A. from Purdue University (2003). Her personal interests include reading, hiking, camping, and songwriting. She considers herself fortunate to align her passion with her profession, finding fulfillment in making a positive impact on the wellbeing of others.

Beginning Saturday, January 3rd Julia will have appointments available from 9am-2pm, the 1st Sunday of the month and Wednesday evenings!

Begin with a grounding Yin Yoga practice designed to gently open the body and calm the nervous system through gently held, mindful postures. This slow, meditative flow invites deep release and introspection.

Following the movement, surrender fully into stillness with a Crystal Singing Bowl Sound Bath. Allow the vibrations to wash over you, harmonizing energy and guiding you into a state of deep rest and renewal.

Together, these practices create a journey from movement into meditation — a space to soften, realign, and reconnect with your inner rhythm.

Sarah is a yoga and sound facilitator who creates nurturing spaces for self-connection through movement, breath, and vibration. Guided by her love for nature, she weaves the grounding wisdom of the earth into her offerings, inviting others to slow down and reconnect with their inner landscape. Her crystal singing bowls are central to her practice, harmonizing body and mind through intentional sound.
