✨ Staff Spotlight: Celebrating Our Social Workers

At Luminary, we want to take a moment to shine a light on our two incredible social workers this month—MaryAnn and Jessica.

MaryAnn has been with our team since the very beginning, helping bring our mission and culture to life through the compassion, presence, and dedication she shows every single day. Her expertise and tireless efforts to ensure our patients and families have the support they need have been instrumental in shaping Luminary Hospice South Bend into what it is today.

While Jessica is new to Luminary, she is certainly not new to hospice care. We are so excited to have her join our team and look forward to the warmth, experience, and heart she brings. Her presence will only strengthen the care and support we provide to our patients and families when they need it most.

A truly memorable day for both Millie and I !!!

Millie Ferro helped open doors for generations of young women as a teacher and coach at Concord High School during the early days of Title IX. This summer, our Luminary Hospice - South Bend team brought her back to the halls where her legacy began.

Welcomed by a former student, now the school’s Athletic Director, Millie walked the gym and classrooms once again, sharing stories, laughter, and even giving the new basketball coach a little good-natured “heck.” For Millie, it wasn’t just a visit; it was a full-circle moment celebrating the teamwork, perseverance, and leadership that shaped so many lives.

We currently have a patient whose wish is to hear a church choir come and sing for her. We would love to help make this beautiful moment happen.
