That is always possible if you would like to hold a visitation and then skip straight to immediate burial services. Arrange the services that best fit the needs of your family without worrying about any steps to follow. The customizable funerals are made to reflect the personality of the deceased and bring closure to all in attendance. The staff often implements green burial options, so they can answer all your questions about the environment. Cremation services offer dignified end-of-life options that can be more affordable to families. When you choose cremation, you do not have to worry about caskets, vaults, and grave markers. Direct cremation is the standalone service and is the most budget friendly. In comparison, cremation with a memorial ceremony is a perfect way to select cremation while planning an accompanying event for family and friends to gather and pay respects. In addition, the funeral planning staff can arrange veteran services and military honors for any who qualifies. Fields-McKinley Funeral & Cremation Services takes pride in serving Moorland, Bridgeton, Sheridan Charter Township, Pierson, Sand Lake, Trufant, Cedar Springs, Croton, Ashland, Bailey, Kent City, Conklin, and Ravenna. Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who have served our country with courage, dedication, and sacrifice.

Their strength reminds us of the true meaning of service — the willingness to protect and care for others, even in the face of great challenge. We are deeply grateful for their commitment and for the freedoms we cherish every day.

To all veterans and their families: thank you for your service and your sacrifice. ❤️🤍💙

After years of wondering, one woman’s determination — and a simple newspaper ad — led her to the family she never knew she had. Her search for her long-lost father uncovered not just one connection, but eleven new siblings and a story filled with hope, love, and reunion.

Stories like this remind us that it’s never too late to find the people and moments that bring our hearts home. 💫

“You’re so strong.”
That phrase is often said with kindness — yet for many grieving, it carries weight, expectation, and a misunderstanding of what loss truly looks like.

Grief doesn’t always look like courage on parade.
It can look like tears streaming, numbed days, the struggle just to get out of bed. It can look messy. And that’s okay.

If you’re in the midst of loss — or supporting someone who is — remember this: you don’t have to be labeled “strong” or “fine.” Showing up, feeling what you feel, moving forward in your own time — that is strength.

Grief doesn’t have a timeline, and there’s no “right way” to feel. Sometimes, it’s in the small moments — laughter, memories, connection — that we find our way forward. 🌿
