⚠️ Warning

Sometimes dog foods or treats are recalled — for example, due to contamination with salmonella or listeria, toxic additives (like too much vitamin D), or foreign-objects.
If your dog begins showing unusual symptoms (vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, loss of appetite) after eating a food or treat, stop using it and contact your veterinarian.

For our clients who feed Hills Science Diet, it is NOT included in this recall. But many fresh and raw brands are listed.

Here are some good places to look up if a specific brand or lot has been recalled:

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) “Recalls & Withdrawals” page — animal- & veterinary product recalls.

The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) recalls and alerts page.

The website Petful — tracks dog-/cat-food recalls by brand and lot.

The site Dog Food Advisor — maintains lists of dog-food recalls and warnings.

The general U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)/FoodSafety.gov “Recalls & Outbreaks” feed, which sometimes includes pet-food alerts.

🐾 Pet Food Myth Busters: Grain-Free Edition 🐾

❌ Myth: “Grain-free food is the healthiest choice for dogs and cats.”

✅ Truth: Grain-free doesn’t always mean healthier!

Many grain-free diets simply swap grains for other carbs like peas, lentils, or potatoes.

Dogs and cats can digest grains just fine, and for most pets, they aren’t harmful.

What matters most is balanced nutrition with the right protein, vitamins, and minerals for your pet’s age, size, and health.

⚠️ Some grain-free dog diets have even been linked to heart concerns (dilated cardiomyopathy), so it’s always best to check with your veterinarian before making food changes.

💡 Bottom line: Grain-free ≠ carb-free, and it’s not automatically better. The healthiest diet is the one that meets your pet’s specific needs. 🐶🐱❤️

🚨 Constipation? Not Always What It Seems! 🚨

For years we’ve heard many pet parents worry about constipation in their dogs and cats. But here’s the important truth:
• 🐶 Dogs that look constipated (straining to go) are most often dealing with diarrhea, not constipation.
• 🐱 Cats that look constipated may actually be suffering from a urinary blockage — and this can be life-threatening if not treated immediately.

A blocked cat can’t urinate, and toxins build up quickly in their system. Without emergency care, this condition can become fatal within 24–48 hours.

👉 If your pet is straining in the litter box or outside, don’t wait — call us right away. What looks like constipation could be something much more serious.

❤️ Keeping your pets safe and healthy is our top priority!
