Did you know there are Chinese herbs hiding in your holiday dishes?! ✨
Many of the ingredients we use on a daily basis can be used medicinally, especially the herbs and spices we use around the holidays!
All of these commonly used spices are used to warm the interior of the body:
💫Cinnamon Twigs (Gui Zhi) promotes sweating to release the exterior for colds and flus, helps with some forms of arthritis and edema, and regulates menstruation. It also benefits the upper jiao for palpitations or other cardiovascular concerns.
💫Cinnamon Bark (Rou Gui) warms the interior of the body and lower jiao, treating things such as cold limbs, lumbar weakness, urinary incontinence, painful periods, and some forms of diarrhea.
💫Star Anise (Ba Jiao Hui Xiang) warms and disperses cold, acting as a natural pain reliever and memory booster.
💫Clove (Ding Xiang) is great for treating vomiting, diarrhea, and hiccups. It may also be beneficial for some cases of impotence.
