In order to successfully love another in the context of an intimate relationship, it is essential that you learn how to love yourself in a healthy way. For those on the passive end of co-dependency, self-love feels like selfishness, pride, and narcissism. The truth is, the pendulum has to swing the other direction in order to experience equilibrium in the middle - balance.
