Update:
“We were already touched… but then Dan returned several hours later with even more generosity in his heart. He said he couldn’t stop thinking about all the heartfelt gratitude expressed on the tree, and he wanted everyone who shared what they were thankful for to receive something special. And today—Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025, on National Giving Tuesday—Dan came back again, bringing enough so that every single person on our Gratitude Tree could feel appreciated this month.
We are truly moved by his spirit of giving and the reminder that everyday people can make extraordinary impacts simply because they choose to. It was a joy to sit and talk with him, hear some of his stories, and get to know someone who embodies kindness in its purest form.
Here’s a picture of our reminder that not all heroes wear capes.”
Dan agreed to let us share his picture. Again, we thank you Dan for such generosity. You have made a difference in people’s hearts.

A very special Gratitude Tree Moment from our Curry County office.🥰
“We were deeply touched when a kind man named Dan, who happened to be outside the appliance store, agreed to come in and take a look at our gratitude tree to help pick a winner. He spent several minutes carefully reading each leaf and, after much thought, chose not one but two winners. When we explained that we could do a random drawing, he surprised us even more—pulling $50 out of his pocket and saying, “I can’t just pick one. I feel that I am doing well and I want both of these people to have it.” We were truly astonished and moved by this incredible act of generosity. It’s moments like these that remind us how amazing it is to witness ordinary people, on an ordinary day, showing such extraordinary kindness and holiday spirit.”
Thank you Dan for your kindness and generosity. You have warmed the hearts of many🩷.
