It can be startling how much more you learn about a relationship when it's over than when you were part of it. One of the hardest parts of death is that now that you've had time to figure out the relationship and appreciate its best parts, you don't have the chance to apply that understanding to it any longer.

What you can do, however, is take that learning and apply it to other parts of your life. What did you do well in that relationship and how can you take that understanding and use it to make other partnerships grow stronger?
