It’s one of our favorite times of the year, the annual daffodil planting. Dr. John Weigand with Central Ohio Geriatrics began this tradition over a decade ago - to plant a dozen daffodils for every resident who passed in the year. Today, 220 bulbs were planted and in total over 3,300 have been planted since the inception. Come Spring, our campus will be a little brighter and the blooms will serve as a special reminder of loved ones.

It’s with great excitement that residents kicked off the 4th season of the Mary Trevor Sunday Chamber Music Series. Musicians Dror Biran and Paul York graciously returned for the opening performance.

In the opening remarks Executive Director Derik Kroeze shared,

“When I attend these performances, I’m always struck by the beauty of the music and the incredible talent of the performers. It leaves me not just in awe, but inspired — to be more creative, more driven, and more passionate. There’s a special energy here, a sense of connection that reminds us of the power of art to transform and elevate us.”

Thank you to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium for visiting this week! Residents enjoyed meeting all of the animals including Trout the penguin and learning all about these interesting animals.

“Put a lid on it” was the title of the most recent pottery class as residents could make boxes with lids - it’s harder than it looks! Residents also made plates, vases, and other creative objects. Thanks to resident Russ, for always making the pottery studio a fun place to be and being a great teacher!
