I know I’m not always the most delicate creature full of charm or grace.
I may come across as brash or loud, maybe even sarcastic and a bit spicy.
But that’s just how I protect myself and my heart.
I’ve had a hard road- not even one that I chose, because life made that choice for me.
I didn’t have the opportunity to pick who I wanted to be and how….
It just happened.
I either grew stronger or be consumed by the flames of life…
So I did what I had to do to keep going and surviving.
It’s not always been pretty or graceful, but I always did things my way.
I stumbled, fumbled and even bumbled my way through life…
But I got through it all, complete with all the bumps and bruises that came along with them.
I’ve been broken, shattered and left with my heart in pieces and still, I never stopped believing in love and life.
I had every reason to turn my back on everyone and everything that hurt me along the way, but that’s not who I am.
I will never let anything or anyone change who I am…
And I’m a believer, a dreamer and a lover of love.
So, everyone who wants to call me naive, ridiculous or foolhardy…
They’re welcome to their opinions, but it won’t change who I am.
They don’t know my reasons, where I’ve been or the things that I’ve gone through.
If they did, they would be in awe of the fact that I’m still standing, still strong and still loving.
But I’ll always be different and that’s why:
I’m real, I’m strong and I’ll keep loving with my big heart.
Life’s too fleeting not to cherish all our moments or not love our people when we can.
So, if you’re looking for me,
I’m pretty easy to find.
Just go where the love is.
