During the new and full moons, the energies around us and within us can get a bit intensified and we can feel a heightened sensitivity, big emotions, and even sometimes see increased emergency room visits or police activity. This reminds us of the potency of these lunar cycle and how closely connected to them we are.

While we pause our physical asana practice during these moon times, we don’t pause our sadhana. We practice, just not asana practice. We deepen and nurture the other limbs of our sadhana.

Chanting is one very powerful way to do this and the chanting of the Nakshatra Suktam, in particular, offers us a profound alignment with the moon and the celestial energies, reminding us that we’re part of a vast, interconnected universe. When we chant this suktam, we deepen our understanding of ourselves and our place in the cosmos.

Join me every new and full moon for 45 minutes of Nakshatra Chanting.
We’ll chant the specific Nakshatra associated with the moon of that day and time.

At the close of September, a fierce storm swept through our farm,& every neglected detail, every small oversight, magnified into a profound disruption, leaving our old home battered & undone. Even with our careful upkeep we were violently reminded that there are always hidden corners that get neglected & hard to reach places that require extra effort. If we want to replace panic with peace and chaos with clarity, we needed to up our game.
🔸
This is the essence of sadhana.. a continuous, dedicated practice that guides us toward a life well lived. It’s more than just a routine; it’s a pathway to living in harmony & equanimity. Just as we need to do our daily chores, sadhana helps us tend to our inner landscape, ensuring that we don’t let unseen clutter accumulate and disrupt our peace.
🔸
After 30 days of utter chaos, every moment spent navigating the mess and completing some long overdue projects to ensure this doesn’t repeat, we are slowly seeing the light, a big reminder of the immense effort and time it takes to restore what has been broken or disturbed & how foundational consistent care is. It’s not just about the immediate effects; it’s the ongoing dedication that makes the difference.
🔸
This is sadhana. It’s a continuous practice of mindfulness. It’s the art of refining ourselves, of polishing the mirror of our soul. It’s a reminder that even in moments of calm we must stay committed to our practice. It’s the bridge that takes us from dukha to sukha, from struggle to ease, and helps us navigate life with grace and resilience.
🔸
Through the deepening of sadhana you know that it’s not just about the grand moments but the every day acts of attention. Through this practice we maintain harmony, but also move closer to our highest selves.
🔸
If you’re ready to dive deep into your sadhana and embrace the full spectrum of your healing drop the word YOGA in the comments. Together, we’ll gently uncover and heal what has been long hidden, transforming your practice into a sanctuary of profound alignment and clarity, guiding you toward a life more vibrant and harmonious than ever before.
