🍁 Thanksgiving Week has officially begun at Northern Pines! 🍁

Today, we kicked things off by creating our very own Thankful Tree. Our residents filled colorful leaves with all the wonderful things they’re grateful for—family, friends, good food, and the joy of community. Watching the tree come to life with their heartfelt messages has been such a beautiful reminder of what this season is all about.

If you happen to stop into our building this week, we’d love for you to join in the tradition! Please take a moment to fill out a leaf with something you’re thankful for and add it to our growing tree. Together, we can fill it with gratitude, love, and all the little blessings that make life special.

Today we kicked off our very first outing to the Festival of Trees, and Oh, what a wonderful time we had! Our residents were absolutely delighted-and a little astonished-to see what 60 beautifully decorated Christmas trees look like all in one place. A huge shout-out to Dial-A-Ride and their wonderful staff for making these special trips possible. Your kindness, patience, and support help us create moments our residents will cherish❤️

Today, the elves of Northern Pines worked their hearts out, lovingly decorating our tree for the Festival of Trees. What makes this tree truly special are the wooden ornaments handmade by our residents, each one crafted with care, love, and a touch of their own holiday spirit. Every branch tells a story, and every ornament carries a memory. Starting Friday, you’re invited to visit the Grayling Mini-Mall to see our tree in person and purchase tickets for a chance to bring this piece of our hearts home.

If you’ve never experienced the Festival and the joy of all the beautifully decorated trees, we encourage you to come. It’s a celebration of creativity, love, and the true spirit of the season.

A huge thank you to Shelby, Megan, Christal, and the entire Care Team Home Health & Hospice crew for hosting such a beautiful and heartwarming ceremony today—honoring not only our veterans, but also the spouses of veterans who have sacrificed alongside them. 💙

Your thoughtful tribute touched every heart in the room, and the delicious cake you provided was the perfect way to continue the celebration afterward!

We are truly blessed to have such an amazing and compassionate team as part of our Northern Pines family.

🎅🎄 The spirit of Christmas is calling! Please join us in making our residents’ holiday wishes come true through our Adopt a Resident program — because every heart deserves a little Christmas magic! ❤️

This year, we invite our wonderful community to join Santa’s workshop through our “Adopt a Resident” program! Each tag on our tree holds a resident’s special elf code name and their Christmas wishes waiting to come true.

And for those who love to share joy far and wide, our brown tags hold ideas for gifts that will sprinkle cheer throughout our entire home — bringing smiles to all our residents! ❤️

To join the fun, visit 130 Mary Ann St., Grayling, MI, choose your tag, fill out your contact info, and drop it in the mailbox on the wall. We kindly ask that you bring unwrapped gifts to Trisha by December 10th so Santa’s sleigh can stay right on schedule! 🦌🎅

Our hearts are so full, and we just have to share why!

We’d like to send a big, heartfelt thank you to our amazing friends at South Branch Township for continuing to “adopt” our sweet John throughout the year. Last Christmas, they visited our Adopt-a-Resident Tree and chose John—showering him with the most thoughtful gifts. But their kindness didn’t stop there! They’ve continued to surprise him with festive gift baskets for every holiday since, each one filled with love and care. 🎁🎃🐣🌸

And in true John fashion, he’s chosen to share his goodies with his best buddy Jack—because that’s just the kind of heart he has. ❤️

Your generosity has brought so many smiles and so much joy to our home. Thank you, South Branch Township, for reminding us all what the spirit of giving is truly about.

🎃 This is Halloween at Northern Pines 👻

We cannot thank our wonderful community enough for all of your kind and generous donations 🖤🧡 providing candy and sweet treats not just for the trick-or-treaters, but for the smiles you put on the faces of our residents as well!

While we certainly enjoyed our yummy pizza and Frankenstein punch, the true highlight of our day was seeing our community show up for our residents. There’s nothing quite like the joy of watching our residents’ faces light up as they see all the kids in their amazing costumes!

Thank you again for helping make this Halloween extra special — your kindness truly made our day! 🎃💜 🖤🧡

Pumpkin carving was a smashing success— literally! Our residents tried out a new carving technique this year using stencils and a mallet... and let's just say, the mallet may have stolen the show🤣 Between the laughter, flying pumpkin pieces, and creative masterpieces, it's safe to say this new method was a big hit (literally) and we ended up with a batch of beautiful (and slightly dented) pumpkins🎃
