Quick mental health check-in 💭
• How has your stress level been lately?

When stress, anxiety, or overwhelm shows up, grounding and coping skills can help regulate your nervous system and bring you back to the present moment.
One simple tool is the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique:
• 5 things you can see 👁️
• 4 things you can feel ✋🏽
• 3 things you can hear 👂🏽
• 2 things you can smell 👃🏽
• 1 thing you can taste 👅

These skills can be helpful during moments of stress, anxiety, emotional overload, or major life changes—but knowing which tools to use and when can make all the difference.

At Lemon Tree Counseling Services, we help clients identify coping and grounding strategies that fit their unique needs and learn how to use them effectively in daily life. You don’t have to figure it out alone. 🌱

🌈 Express Yourself Through Play! 🎲
Did you know that games can be more than just fun—they can be therapeutic too? At Lemon Tree Counseling Services, we use board games to help clients explore and express their emotions in a safe, playful way.

Here’s how some of our favorites work:

🎨 Feelings UNO
Each color represents an emotion:
🔴 Red = Hard Feelings
💛 Yellow = Happy Emotions
🔵 Blue = Sad Emotions
💚 Green = Calm Emotions

Special cards like Wild, Draw 2, Draw 4, Skip, and Reverse can be used however you like—as long as it helps you express yourself!

🎢 Chutes & Ladders
Each row can represent a different feeling. As you move through the game, reflect on how each emotion shows up in your life.

🧱 Feelings Jenga
Every block has an emotion written on it. When you pull a block, share a time you felt that way—it’s a fun, safe way to open up about feelings.

💡 The goal? To explore emotions, practice sharing, and remember that all feelings are valid. Play can be powerful therapy!

🌈 Art Activity: “Bottling Your Emotions” 🫙

This week, we’re exploring what it really means to bottle up your feelings—through art.

Using chalk (or any colored materials), assign each color an emotion. Add as much or as little of each color as you feel. When you’re ready, place the colors into a bottle and close the lid.

Then take a moment to reflect:
✨ What emotions did you put in the bottle?
✨ How full is it?
✨ What happens when the bottle fills up?
✨ How do you release what’s inside—safely and intentionally?

This activity is a creative reminder that our emotions take up space, even when we try to hide them. Opening the bottle—talking, sharing, expressing—can be the first step toward relief and healing.
