This is new for me, so please be patient🥰

I preparation of bad weather, I will offer telehealth services starting Monday if roads are too bad for travel.

❄️this will NOT be billed to insurance. There are several insurance companies that won’t pay for these types of services.
❄️cost will be $40.00 for a visit. This will need to be made through our clinic Venmo account or our website www.msmcgrayson.com
❄️I spoke with Brad at Horton and Brown and we both will do everything we can to get you evaluated and get medicine to you safely.
❄️you will need a cell phone for the appointment. Once you are ready for your visit, I will send you a link to login.
❄️the consent form is listed below that will need signed.
❄️ I will update further on here tomorrow as well as on our clinic voicemail.

❗️please note, I strongly feel telehealth in acute care is not practicing best medicine. I feel more confident in my diagnosis when I can do a physical exam on patients….however given the circumstances we will be in, I think this is our best option.

❄️❄️❄️Helpful tips for incoming snow❄️❄️❄️

Most of us with small children/babies have an instant panic when we hear we may not be able to get out of the house due weather. This is particularly stressful when it happens in the height of Flu/Covid/stomach virus season.
✅ Pedialyte (useful in babies that may be vomiting and cannot tolerate formula or milk)
✅Tylenol/motrin
✅bottled water
✅daily medications-shipments may slow way down to our local pharmacies. Do not get caught without your medicines!
✅albuterol-if your child (or you) have asthma, make sure you have plenty of albuterol in case you need. Make sure you have good, workin, tubing for the nebulizer machine.
✅cough medications (bromfed is prescribed and can be used at age 2 and up. OTC cough meds can be used on ages 6 and up.
✅get seen if you are sick now. Like most grocery stores, medial clinics will become more busy the closer the winter storm gets.

❗️❗️The spread of flu is incredibly fast right now in our town. It’s also one of the most hard-hitting flu seasons I have seen. Symptoms are severe. Fevers are lasting for days. The coughing is non-stop.

🚌Schools are back in session next week so here are some helpful tips to keep you, your child, and school staff safe!

-if your child is sick (fever 100.5 or greater, persistent cough, vomiting or diarrhea) KEEP THEM HOME.

-a simple runny nose without other symptoms is not likely to be the Flu. Flu A (the most common one in Grayson right now) comes with a fever MOST of the time. Body aches also seem to be a common symptom.

-stay home until symptoms have resolved. You need to be fever free WITHOUT medication for 24 hours before you return to work/school.

-Remind school age kids to wash hands and sanitize frequently throughout the day! Make sure they are eating right and getting plenty of sleep. This is our bodies number 1 defense against viruses.

-help your child’s teacher by providing hand santizer, tissues, and chlorox wipes. This keeps the whole class (including the teacher) from catching viruses. I cant stress this enough!

-if your child develops SEVERE muscle pain, particulary in the legs…..and is refusing to walk, please take them to the ER. This needs immediate attention (and labs.)
