🎉Building a Culture of Safety

Safety isn’t just about checking boxes on a form— it’s about habits and teamwork.

👀 Observe your classroom from a child’s perspective to catch hidden hazards.
🤝 Communicate with coworkers about potential risks and shifts in classroom setup.
📋 Document incidents, near misses, or hazards promptly to prevent repeats.

By making safety a shared responsibility, children learn by example, and staff can work confidently knowing everyone is on the same page. When everyone is on the same page, accidents become rare. Let’s protect our children — and each other — every day. 💛

You're probably wondering, would you receive credit for completing this training course? The answer is “YES!” This training is approved in multiple states. You will receive 1 clock hour towards pre-service or annual training requirements. Enroll in “Hidden Dangers: Spotting Everyday Hazards” today.

✅ Keep pathways clear to reduce trip hazards.
✅ Anchor heavy furniture to walls to prevent tipping.
✅ Store sharp tools, small objects, and cleaning products out of reach.
✅ Check play materials daily for broken or worn items.

By incorporating these simple checks into your daily routine, you can create a safer environment for children and staff, and stop accidents before they start.

👉🏼Did you know that the most common injuries in childcare settings include cuts and lacerations (31%), bumps and bruises (15%), fractures (10%), and dental injuries (8%)? More than half of the reported fractures and concussions were linked to falls from climbing equipment. Many incidents occurred during free play, with younger children—particularly toddlers and preschoolers—facing a higher risk for injuries such as falls and choking.

📚 Training Talks Tuesday 12:4 of 4: Observation and Assessment for Possible Delays

👋🏾 Hey Caregivers! 👀 As we continue our journey, let's discuss how to observe and assess children aged 0-5 for possible delays in cognitive development. Observing and assessing children aged 0-5 for possible delays in cognitive development involves attention to various developmental milestones. Regularly observe their interactions, play, and communication skills, looking for signs of delayed language development, limited problem-solving, or challenges in social engagement. Pay attention to whether they achieve age-appropriate cognitive milestones, such as object permanence, imitation, and simple problem-solving. If you notice persistent delays, consult with parents to initiate timely and tailored support for the child's cognitive growth.

✅ Share one observation technique you find effective in the comments and how it contributes to identifying developmental milestones. Now, let's empower each other.

Earn 2 clock hours and a certificate of completion when you enroll in our course "The Role of Cognitive Development in Building General Knowledge" to learn how to develop an action plan for supporting a child who might exhibit signs of cognitive delays, and let's ensure every child receives the tailored care they deserve! 🤝💙 🌈💡
