Home is not just a place, it’s a feeling: The residents who live here at Oakdale in Great Barrington, MA know this to be true.

Oakdale was founded in 1981 as a gracious, long-term residential setting for adults with behavioral health and developmental disabilities. And that's what we still offer today to adults who strive for independence and thrive in community.

Each of us bring unique strengths, competencies, and abilities to our community. At Oakdale, we strive for each person to see challenges as an aspect of their being, NOT their defining characteristic.

We believe that adults with special needs have the desire and the right to participate to the fullest extent possible of their ability, in any and all decisions, and processes which impact their personal and community life.
