Soon the digital presence for Almost Home will be retired but on this last day of official operations, we had to say one more heartfelt thank you to the many who helped us live out our mission over the past almost 9 years. Justin Van Meter, Rozel, knew his wife needed more than he and their sons could give. She was facing the end of her life and the family needed hospice care.

For everything, there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. The Fall reminds us of the beauty of God's plan even in the midst of challenge and change. While Almost Home, Inc. will officially close next Monday, we know the love, care, and impact we've created will carry on in our families of residents, staff, and the generous community that has supported us over the past 8 years. It’s with great sadness that we share the news that after 8+ years of helping seniors live well and age well, Almost Home Will be closing its doors on October 31, 2022. Residents, families, and staff have been notified of this news and we will continue to support them through this upcoming transition. Due to sustained staffing shortages, we are unable to recruit and retain the staff and leadership necessary to continue providing high-quality elder care as is our mission. This decision was not made lightly. Several other options were thoughtfully considered by the board. However, a suitable long-term solution that would allow operations to continue long-term did not materialize.

Thank you to our community and many friends and supporters who have made our mission and ministry possible over the past 8 years. We strongly believe that our work during this time has raised the level of quality care provided in our community. None of this would have been possible without your commitment to our mission to help seniors live well and age well.

We wrapped up the weekend with a family dinner and special treat! Kaylea McMullen was nice enough to provided after dinner music for the residents ❤! The tunes were enjoyed by all as we cleaned up the kitchen and got ready for a great week ahead! Thanks, Kaylea! What are your Sunday night traditions?

We're kicking off National Assisted Living Week and this year's theme couldn't be more perfect! It's a great reminder to focus on the joyful moments in life. Here's a snapshot of some high points in 2022! Crafts with friends, water fights with the kids, sing-a-longs with Walt, and the beautiful seasons we get to enjoy as Kansans - Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter!
