It’s off to a JOYOUS CHRISTMAS for Rosewood Miracle Workers AKTION Club Members!

Rosewood Miracle Workers AKTION Club celebrated its Christmas party last Friday, Dec. 5. Members were treated to a festive lunch. Then it was on to fun games and participation in a gift exchange.

Congratulations to Amanda Hammond, Rosewood Director of Services. She will be recognized this evening (Nov. 7) as a Great Bend Tribune “20 Under 40” Award Recipient.

This award honors “outstanding young professionals who are shaping the future of Central Kansas;” and those who “exemplify excellence in leadership, career achievement, and community involvement.”

Amanda certainly fits those award descriptions. She’s been working as a direct support professional, helping people with disabilities ever since she was a young adult. She also serves as Local Program Coordinator of Storm Special Olympics, where she has volunteered as a coach and board member for more than 15 years.

We hope that you enjoy your flowers, Amanda. Recognition Well Deserved!!! 👏 😊

All we want for Christmas is a freshly stained finish! Our folks at Rosewood Gallery are hard at work crafting Holiday orders! Today, Nov. 6, we were giving furniture pieces fresh coats of stain and getting those pieces sealed!

Full Steam Ahead! We took a train ride back in time with some of our Rosewood Adventurers last Friday, Oct. 24.

Fall is the perfect time to experience Abilene and Smoky Valley Railroad and experience the history of the early 1900s railroad industry in Kansas. Our Rosewood Railroaders enjoyed riding the rails along the Dickinson County countryside.

You didn’t think that our last Facebook series was all the photos from Special Olympics Kansas West Region Bowling, did you? 😆

Plenty of sporting activity, concentration, celebration, smiles, and camaraderie going on throughout the day with Storm Team Members at Centennial Bowl in Hays last Saturday, Oct. 25 that we captured a plethora of photos throughout the afternoon.

It was a crowded Bowling alley at Centennial Bowl in Hays last Saturday, Oct. 25, but our Storm Bowlers prevailed, competing in the West Region Bowling Tournament.

Twenty-two Storm Special Olympic Bowlers had a successful day on the lanes. Congratulations to them for their stellar performances.

Special Thank You goes to the Storm Coaches for putting in the effort this bowling season and making Saturday possible for our bowlers. Thank goodness we have wonderful and amazing Coaches and Volunteers involved with Storm Team. 🙂❤️

So much work goes into putting on the Rosewood Rodeo, including preparing the horses ahead of the day's event. It’s also a good time to capture the anticipation by our Riders, as they prepare to take on the day.
Then comes the excitement of Grand Entry for Rodeo Participants. The pride from entering the arena for the start of Rodeo keeps them energized and sitting tall in the saddle all day long.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support our Rodeo Riders and Rosewood Services during this important day!!!! 🙂

Rosewood Rodeo is so special for our Therapy Riders, partly because of atmosphere that exists throughout the day, provided by volunteers, spectators, Rosewood staff and peers.

Here’s a collection of photos, ranging from Silent Auction, Concession and Tack Shop, to Fun Games and Face Painting, Photo Booth and just seeing folks simply spending quality time together.

The American Freedom Riders Drill Team came from north central Kansas to put on two AMAZING Performances during Rosewood Rodeo on Oct. 4. Supporting our Military Branches, and everything that America represents to them, American Freedom Riders wowed our Rosewood Rodeo participants and the crowd with morning and afternoon drill team performances.

Thank you to the American Freedom Riders for helping to make Rosewood Rodeo extra special. 🇺🇸 🙂
