February always gets framed as romance and roses. And that can be great.
But the love I want to focus on this time of year is the quiet kind.

Loving yourself enough to eat, rest, move, and breathe like you matter.
Not perfectly. Just consistently.

That kind of care ripples out further than we realize.

January is wrapping up.
How are you feeling as we finish our first month of 2026?

How are your goals/ rhythms/ resolutions going?

As we move toward February, I’m thinking a lot about love as a practice.

We all know love has different faces and expressions.
You love your family, you love your spouse, you love your favorite meal. But those aren't the same "love".

It also has different ways it shows up.
Sometimes love feels warm and expressive
Sometimes it’s quiet and practical
In winter, love may look like steadiness, consistency, showing up gently

Whether you are in a season of focusing on how you love your family, your spouse, your friends, your community, or yourself, take time to notice how it feels.

What kind of love do you need more of right now?

You were never meant to do this alone.

When I'm feeling overwhelmed, it is one of my reminders to myself.

When you look back at history, or look at many of the cultures in the world still, you see that life looks different.
Things are done in community. Cooking together, raising kids among everyone, extended families living and doing the daily things of life together.

Not one person (or even two) carrying the responsibility of earning enough to pay bills, maintaining a household, cooking multiple times a day, and still being told to pursue hobbies and interests and personal development and your relationships.

We weren't meant to do this alone.

In case you needed the reminder, too.

When the weather is nice, you'll see me outside as much as possible. I am walking the trail, hiking the mountains, playing with my little at the park, or kayaking on the river.

When it's cold outside, I'm still trying to be outside, but it's just not as fun for me. All the indoor time and short days make it easy to not stay active enough, though.

So my rhythms in the winter include more indoor movement.
Doing a YouTube workout, getting outside when it is nice, having a dance party in the living room when we need a pick-me-up.

I'm also drinking more herbal teas and warming beverages, eating more soups, and just leaning into the warm and cozy in my diet.

Not forcing anything, just embracing what feels or works better right now.

What changes do you see or create?

Your rhythms matter more than your resolutions.

Resolutions rely on pressure and willpower, while rhythms rely on systems or routines that make sense. Gentle routines help habits stick.

Can you force yourself to stick to your new resolutions? Probably for a few days, or maybe a few weeks. Statistically, that's where most of them end.

Rhythms are the dance of how you naturally move through your days. Adjusting your rhythms to add new steps feels more natural than forcing new resolutions.

What new rhythms are calling to you?

We don’t talk enough about how winter knows how to slow us down.

Nature is resting. Animals are resting. But people often push to “finish strong.”

What if finishing strong meant finishing steady, present, and without abandoning yourself?
Maybe you aren't behind — you're responding exactly as winter intends.

Maybe it's time to soften your pace.

You don’t need a new you — you need a supported you.
January culture loves pressure.
Overhaul. Discipline. Reinvention.

But humans don’t generally change that way.
We respond to support.

Whether you’re working on your body, your home, your family, or your business (or all of them at once), there’s a quieter question worth asking:
What would it feel like to support yourself instead of shoving yourself forward?

I’m naturally an “all or nothing” person. I like to believe I can take on the world and win through sheer effort.
And I’m learning that my body and mind feel much better when I don’t.
When I leave space. When I move more gently. When I give myself what I actually need.

Everything else tends to work better that way, too.

What does support look like for you this month?

We have probably all been seeing the advice for how to supercharge your new year, or slingshot into 2026 or all the different ways that it gets talked about. But what if that advice isn't meant for you?

What if you didn’t “launch” into the new year?

Winter invites depth and recalibration. It's a season for going inward, resting, planning, dreaming, and reassessing.
Spring is the season for launching and growth.

Maybe instead of reinventing yourself on Jan 1st, we breathe into the new year. Ease in. Look back at your last year, see what worked, consider what you want to change, celebrate your wins and your growth. Let go of what you don't want to bring with you into this year. Do it gently. Maybe from a cozy chair with a plush blanket (just me?!).

How would January feel if you greeted it gently?
