💜 Licensed Creative Arts Therapists are the second largest mental health practitioner profession in New York State! And we have been providing psychotherapy for almost two decades (same as all other mental health practitioners- LMHC, LMFT, LP). 👏👏👏

💜 LCATs bill the same CPT procedure codes as all other mental health professionals and are required by NYS to complete 36 hours of continuing education per license cycle. Many have additional training in evidence based protocols used for anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, self-harm, and suicidality 👏👏👏

💜 Governor Kathy Hochul now is the time to sign Bill A3319/S1001 which authorizes that ALL commercial insurance plans provide benefits for outpatient psychotherapy provided by LCATs! No New Yorker should have to lose their existing LCAT therapist if they change jobs or insurance plans! 👏👏👏
