Our patient came to us with bone loss and failing lower front teeth (see 2nd x-ray and picture). After careful planning, we collaborated with her dentist, who came to our office on the day of the surgery to place the prosthesis after surgery(3rd slide), so she could leave with teeth the same day!
For now, she’s using an upper denture, but stay tuned because she’ll be coming back soon to have implants placed in her upper jaw too! We’re excited to continue this journey with her and share her final results.

✨ Dual Arch + Zygoma Transformation ✨

This challenging case was carried out by Dr. Rastegar, with surgical support from Dr. Panagos and Dr. Hanna, and restorative care provided by Dr. Michael Greenbaum.

Our patient had been turned away by other surgeons and told his situation was too challenging. After years of struggling with nothing to chew with, his only wish was to get back to eating and smiling again. With a carefully planned dual arch All-on-X with zygomas, that dream is now reality. 💙

Celebrating an incredible career and an even more incredible person.🦷

This week, Jamaica Hospital hosted a special retirement lunch for Dr. Harry Sacks, who is retiring at the end of the month after 40 years of dedicated service as Chief of the Division of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Sacks has also served as Director of the Implant Training Program and Site Director for the Mount Sinai Medical School Advanced Training Program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

He’s been a mentor to countless students and residents — and those lucky enough to train under him know they were learning from one of the best. To know him is to know the man, the myth, the absolute legend.🐐

While he’s retiring from the hospital, we’re happy to share that Dr. Sacks is still seeing patients in private practice at our New Hyde Park office.

Congratulations, Dr. Sacks — thank you for your leadership, your wisdom, and your impact. 💙
