Let's translate some "Doctor Speak" into "Plain English."
The Medical Term: Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction (PTTD). The Plain English: The main tendon holding up your arch is "quitting."
It sounds complex, but the reality is simple: This tendon is the suspension cable for your foot's arch. When it gets overused or injured, it stretches out like an old rubber band.
What It Feels Like:
Stage 1: Pain and swelling on the inside of your ankle.
Stage 2: You notice your arch is actually flattening out.
Stage 3: Your ankle starts rolling inward, and the pain shifts to the outside of the foot.
The Takeaway: PTTD is progressive. If you catch it early, we can often fix it with simple braces or custom orthotics. If you ignore it, the arch collapses permanently, often requiring surgery.
Don't wait for the collapse. If you have inner ankle pain, let's check that tendon today: https://tinyurl.com/h4b4czrd
