Effective Monday, Dec. 22, we are implementing the following visitor guidelines during respiratory illness season across our HSHS Wisconsin and Illinois hospitals as a precautionary measure for the safety of our colleagues, patients and visitors:

Only two people are allowed to visit a patient at any one time.
Also, please do not visit patients if you:
• Have a cold or any flu-like symptoms including, fever or chills, sore throat, body or muscle aches, headache, cough or runny nose
• Are under 18 years of age

Green Bay’s first hospital opened on Dec. 15, 1888 in a 23-room house on Quincy Street. Equipped with just one chair, four beds, an old cook stove, and a bubbling kettle over a stone fireplace for laundry, the origin of HSHS St. Vincent Hospital was humble. For six years, this home was used until the local demand created a need for what would become HSHS St. Vincent Hospital.

Today, HSHS St. Vincent Hospital has more than 2,000 colleagues, a children’s hospital and many state-of-the-art features our founding Sisters would be proud of today.
