HCRC ensures that children and families are safe, healthy and ready for success! In 2000, 526 S.
What is now known as Howe Community Resource Center started out as a small parent resource room at Howe School. Realizing that the space at Howe School was limited and having bigger visions, stakeholders began looking for a permanent building. Monroe Ave (a former AAA) was purchased and remodeled through the hard work and generosity of many in the community. The name was changed in 2013 to Howe Community Resource Center, recognizing the role the center plays as a resource and our efforts in building community. By 2004, momentum had grown and many of the programs and services offered at the resource center were thriving. Oral Health Partnership was created and, in 2006, a state of the art, 3-chair dental clinic was added to provide full service dental care to underinsured or uninsured children. In 2009, we became a gateway agency for The Community Partnership for Children, thus beginning our parenting program
We know we have something very special and unique. As we look to the future, we look to expand the number of resource center created programs, as well as maintain partnership programs. The resource center is one of the three gateway agencies in our community that provide services to ensure children, prenatal to 5 years old, are safe, healthy, and ready for school. New programs and exciting new directions have called for new staff members. We have come a long way from that small, one room resource center and we are excited about where we will go next! We do not have service restrictions based on age or income, and we serve all of Brown County, so take a look at what we offer and join in the fun!

Today we’re celebrating our incredible Parents as Teachers team — the heart of our home visiting program here at Howe Community Resource Center. 💛
Each of these women pours so much care and intention into walking alongside families — meeting them where they are, celebrating their strengths, and helping their children thrive.
We’re grateful for the meaningful work they do every single day, and for the families who welcome us into their homes and lives. Together, we’re building connection, confidence, and community.

🧥✨ Helping Warm Our Community, One Coat at a Time
Today, our team at Howe Community Resource Center joined The Salvation Army of Greater Green BaySalvation Army of Greater Green Bay to volunteer for the Coats for Kids event — supporting local families as we head into Wisconsin’s coldest months.
This annual effort collects and distributes over 2,000 warm coats to kids in need, made possible by the generosity of our community. Donations from individuals, churches, businesses, and foundations, along with dedicated volunteers, ensure families have what they need to stay warm and supported.
We are grateful to be part of such a caring community and proud to lend a helping hand today. Thank you to The Salvation Army and all who make programs like this possible. ❤️

Our team had such a great time at the 25th Annual IndUS Banquet this weekend! The night was filled with laughter, connection, and so many reminders of why community matters. ✨
We’re deeply inspired by the heart behind IndUS of Fox Valley— the way they celebrate culture, uplift families, and create space for belonging is something we hold close to our mission too. As a team that walks alongside families every day, it’s powerful to see others leading with the same love and purpose. 🌍❤️
A huge thank-you to KHROME for nominating us and to IndUS for selecting our organization as a grant recipient. Your support helps us continue creating safe, welcoming spaces where families can grow and thrive. 🙌
Events like this remind us that strong communities are built when organizations come together — each doing their part to support, uplift, and empower. We’re so thankful to be part of that shared effort here in our community. 🧡

Howe Community Resource Center (HCRC), in partnership with Howe Elementary School, builds a strong and resilient community through education and support to children and their families.
The Center lives our mission by providing services to Howe Elementary School children and families as well as providing parenting education and support to young at-risk families in Brown County. We are celebrating a 20+ year relationship/partnership with Howe Elementary School. We believe by providing support in the areas of increased attendance and parent engagement, students have a greater chance at academic success.
In our comprehensive and intensive parenting work, we also want to see families succeed. The major component of our parenting program is home visitation with families who have children under five to ensure all children are healthy, safe and ready to learn. We focus on three main areas in every home visit: Parent-child interaction, family well-being and developmental milestones.
Building relationships is key to our work. Whether we are building relationships at Howe School or in our parenting program, it is trust that must be established between our staff and the children and families. As a result of building relationships and trust, we are able to work positively together.
Vision
HCRC positively impacts children and their children. HCRC is a strong and collaborative partner in increasing academic success of Howe Elementary School students. We are a part of growing successful children to develop into healthy and productive citizens. HCRC is creative and nimble in responding to Howe School and community needs.
Values
HCRC has five guiding values that guide our work
Judgment free
Integrity
Compassion
Trauma Informed *
Sense of achievement and empowerment
Trauma Informed* means we recognize many of the people we work with have experienced adverse childhood experiences that have traumatized these individuals. Rather than looking for what is wrong with them, we ask what happened to you that helps us understand why they may be acting or reacting in certain ways.
