HCRC ensures that children and families are safe, healthy and ready for success! In 2000, 526 S.
What is now known as Howe Community Resource Center started out as a small parent resource room at Howe School. Realizing that the space at Howe School was limited and having bigger visions, stakeholders began looking for a permanent building. Monroe Ave (a former AAA) was purchased and remodeled through the hard work and generosity of many in the community. The name was changed in 2013 to Howe Community Resource Center, recognizing the role the center plays as a resource and our efforts in building community. By 2004, momentum had grown and many of the programs and services offered at the resource center were thriving. Oral Health Partnership was created and, in 2006, a state of the art, 3-chair dental clinic was added to provide full service dental care to underinsured or uninsured children. In 2009, we became a gateway agency for The Community Partnership for Children, thus beginning our parenting program
We know we have something very special and unique. As we look to the future, we look to expand the number of resource center created programs, as well as maintain partnership programs. The resource center is one of the three gateway agencies in our community that provide services to ensure children, prenatal to 5 years old, are safe, healthy, and ready for school. New programs and exciting new directions have called for new staff members. We have come a long way from that small, one room resource center and we are excited about where we will go next! We do not have service restrictions based on age or income, and we serve all of Brown County, so take a look at what we offer and join in the fun!

๐ A huge thank you to The Salvation Army of Greater Green Bay for organizing Adopt-A-Family and for all the work that goes into making this program possible. Our team loved starting the season by volunteering to help sort gifts for Adopt-A-Family โ and we are incredibly grateful to also be an organization whose families benefit from this generosity through our Parents as Teachers Home Visiting program.
๐ A special shoutout to The Boldt Company and their amazing team for volunteering their time and donating a truck that morning to pick up all the gifts and bring them back to the center. Your support helped make this a smooth and joyful process for everyone involved!
๐ It truly takes a community, and we are so thankful for partners who show up in so many meaningful ways to support children and families. Thank you for helping us spread warmth, care, and holiday cheer!

A small but meaningful staff day for us this week. Pottery mugs, a treat exchange, and time to slow down together. It was a simple way to connect and reflect on the year weโve had and everything our team has accomplished.
Weโre grateful for this group and all the heart they bring to the families we serve. โจ

Weโre excited to introduce Adriana, one of our passionate Parent Educators at Howe Community Resource Center! Adriana brings a strong interest in whole-person wellness and is currently pursuing her associate degree in Health and Wellness at NWTC, where sheโs working toward becoming a Health Coach. Her love for nutrition, movement, and overall well-being shines through in her work with families.
What makes this role meaningful for Adriana is the opportunity to support parents as they deepen their understanding of their childrenโs development. She is truly passionate about the Parents as Teachers (PAT) curriculum and values the trust and relationships she builds with the families she serves.
Adriana is excited to continue growing in her field โ and to share her knowledge in ways that help families feel supported, empowered, and confident.

Howe Community Resource Center (HCRC), in partnership with Howe Elementary School, builds a strong and resilient community through education and support to children and their families.
The Center lives our mission by providing services to Howe Elementary School children and families as well as providing parenting education and support to young at-risk families in Brown County. We are celebrating a 20+ year relationship/partnership with Howe Elementary School. We believe by providing support in the areas of increased attendance and parent engagement, students have a greater chance at academic success.
In our comprehensive and intensive parenting work, we also want to see families succeed. The major component of our parenting program is home visitation with families who have children under five to ensure all children are healthy, safe and ready to learn. We focus on three main areas in every home visit: Parent-child interaction, family well-being and developmental milestones.
Building relationships is key to our work. Whether we are building relationships at Howe School or in our parenting program, it is trust that must be established between our staff and the children and families. As a result of building relationships and trust, we are able to work positively together.
Vision
HCRC positively impacts children and their children. HCRC is a strong and collaborative partner in increasing academic success of Howe Elementary School students. We are a part of growing successful children to develop into healthy and productive citizens. HCRC is creative and nimble in responding to Howe School and community needs.
Values
HCRC has five guiding values that guide our work
Judgment free
Integrity
Compassion
Trauma Informed *
Sense of achievement and empowerment
Trauma Informed* means we recognize many of the people we work with have experienced adverse childhood experiences that have traumatized these individuals. Rather than looking for what is wrong with them, we ask what happened to you that helps us understand why they may be acting or reacting in certain ways.
