Day 411: Audrey had a really good appointment with a Speech Pathologist at OU, she didn’t hesitate one moment in switching out Audrey’s Trach. PTL. I honestly don’t know what everyone’s hesitation was. Anyway not gonna cry over spilt milk we are just so thankful the Lord directed us to the right person. It was a really productive appt and we left with a wealth of information and some resources to help at home.

Audrey did so good and responded to the pathologist and her intern extremely well. She was in a really good mood today, I know she’s feeling much better!

Psalm 32:8
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you".

Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path".

Day 410: Everyday we are reminded of Gods power and how he has held Audrey. We praise HIM everyday and rely on Him.

Isaiah 41:10 - Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Tomorrow we will take Audrey to Ou again and we ask you to pray that we get something done regarding her Trach. It’s been so frustrating that at every turn medical professionals keep passing the buck to someone else. Of course our ultimate goal is to have the trach removed, which won’t happen tomorrow, but we need someone to replace the current one with new one. So please pray that someone will actually get this done!

She’s had a pretty good day today, she still taking her antibiotic but seemed to be in better mood and smiling today!.

Day 408: Didn’t get this posted yesterday as I intended.

We decided what was best was to let Audrey have this day for bed rest. Thursday was been pretty traumatic on her ( as well as the rest of us) and we are so thankful that it wasn’t more serious! However we think she was so shook that she wouldn’t allow her self to sleep.

We even tried lying in bed with her to provide some additional security and comfort but that didn’t work. Finally sleep came at around 6:30 pm.

She’s on antibiotics at home to treat the mild pneumonia that showed on her chest xray and in her labs. In addition we are pushing fluids to keep her hydrated.

Day 407: Audrey had a mucus plug in her trach that constricted airway and inhibited her breathing . EMS was called and once she was stabilized she was medi flighted to OU. They did labs, chest X-rays, ekg, respiratory checked her out. She does have a little pneumonia and they’ve started antibiotics which she can continue at home. So She’s being discharged.

Thank you all for the prayers! We praise the Lord it wasn’t anything more major!

Day 405: Again we proclaim this verse for Audrey and we praise the Lord for all He has done!

Isaiah 41:10. "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”

Today Audrey went to physical therapy, her first session since she received Botox injections last Thursday. Even though we’ve been told may not see the affects for a week or so, her therapist said she could feel the softening in the muscle injected!

She had a really good session with Allie, Her core strength and stamina is improving daily!

As I told you yesterday, Audrey has made vast improvement in opening her mouth. If you’ve not been following along you may not see the importance in this, but considering the broken jaw along with the traumatic brain injury, movements in muscles and joints have not come quickly; however as her brain heals and she regaining some control over these movements and relearning how to use, it is HUGE on so many levels. She has consistently for the last few days initiated the opening and closing of her mouth, especially during oral care. (See pic below). May not be the most flattering picture and someday she can rip me for it! Lol and I will allow her to do so and most definitely welcome it! But for now it’s the best way for me to share with you how effective your prayers are. Thank you.

Day 404: sorry it’s been couple of days since I’ve posted, Audrey is good, she had a very restful weekend. The Botox injections she had on Thursday have left her fairly sore so we haven’t pushed and have let her adjust.

However today was a better day. Did some vibration plate and stretching but
The highlight of the day was her opening her mouth wide on her own with no assistance. She’s made significant progress in her chewing motion as well as her swallowing. For us this is huge! Praise Jesus!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV): "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."

Day 402: Audrey’s Birthday and we’ve been overwhelmed by all the prayers, birthday wishes and monetary gifts!

Unlike years past, we didn’t get to celebrate with cake or a party but that doesn’t make Audrey’s day any less special.

Lamentations 3:21-25
21 Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope:
22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”
25 The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;

We will share all the birthday wishes with her and I’m sure it will make her heart happy!

Yesterday was a long day for her and so she’s recouping, while still getting in some good therapy time.

Day 401: Audrey’s appt with neurologist to get Botox went well. Her next appt is in April. We are excited to see what differences this makes.

Salina and Audrey has very full day. Her neurologist is up a Mercy Nuero science on memorial.

Afterward the got to meet up with her 2 of best friends. I think all in all she had a great day!

My Niece Kelly has been very instrumental in helping us find a neurologist that was willing to do the Botox. We can thank her enough. There is a plan and purpose in everything.

Isaiah 14:24 “The Lord Almighty has sworn, 'Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will stand”.

Day 400: In the Bible, 400 often symbolizes a significant, completed period of testing, trial, or waiting, frequently associated with bo***ge and divine deliverance. It represents a "perfect period" of time, highlighting God’s faithfulness in prophecy and the fulfillment of His covenantal promises.

Not sure that this being the 400th day since Audrey’s accident is significant or not but there are things happening, not only in Audrey’s healing. Today Salina received news that Audrey’s SS disability has finally been approved. We are so grateful unto the Lord for all his provisions and how he has met the needs for Audrey these 400 days and we are confident he will continue.

Tomorrow we take Audrey for her Botox injections, and we ask your prayers for these injection to help with her contracted muscles.

Phil 4:19. And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus"

Audrey’s journey is no where near completion but we hope and pray that she has turned a significant corner.

She had a great day, just hanging out with her mom! Been alert and engaging all day! She’s felt better and not much congestion today. She continues to amaze us!

Day 399::

Mark 11:24 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Good news and answered prayer: Audrey goes for her Botox jnjections on Thursday! PTL we are so excited for her.

She had a pretty good day today. Took short road trip to visit Kash at his workplace.

She’s not run any fever. Has some congestion but other than that she’s good.

After shower time she sat up in bed from laying position with a little assistant three times. We are excited to see her continue to work so hard!

Please continue your prayers in all areas and pray that the injections on Thursday will help!

Day 398: Audrey is feeling so much better. Though she didn’t sleep much last night, she’s not running a fever today! Praise the Lord! And thank you all for the prayers!

Isaiah 25:1 "O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago"

She did sleep and stay in bed until afternoon, but once she was good and awake she was full of surprises. Before we got her out of bed, she kept raising her head and shoulder up as if she wanted to sit up. Salina had gone to the bathroom to finish getting ready and I asked Audrey if she wanted to sit up and she let me know in her own way she did. So I took her arm and she started pulling herself up, then I put my hands behind her shoulders to help her steady herself and she sat straight up.

Once Salina came back in her room I asked her if she wanted to show mom and she did it again!!! Woo hoo. Salina actually got a video of it and if she’d been covered better while in bed I could share it!

After this great little surprise, we got her out of bed and in her wheelchair. My plan wasn’t to work her hard today since she hadn’t felt well, but this girl takes the initiative and she starts on some of her exercises herself!!!

We did spend time on the vibration plate, did some oral therapies, worked on her balance and core strengthening , listen to some music and watched a movie.

Please continue to pray for our girls health. Though she didn’t run any fever today she still is not feeling her best and being nonverbal right now it’s challenging to know what to do for her at times.

Day 397: Audrey’s journey has been long so far and continues to be a marathon not a sprint. However every day we Praise the Lord for the gift of that day, another opportunity to support Audrey in whatever way we can, to advocate for her, and to glorify Christ every step of the way.

From the beginning we have claimed Isaiah 41:10. “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."

The Lord has been so faithful to keep his promises and we continue to cling to Him in this journey. We have been so blessed in that with all that she’s had to go through and bear, she continues to remain fairly healthy and we give the Lord all credit. Today however she’s been a bit sick. It’s challenging to say the least, to try to determine what her issues are without her being able to tell us.

Hebrews 4:16 (NIV): "Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need".

So please hold her tight in your prayers that what may be going on is something minor and pray that Salina will have the discernment needed as she takes care of her. The two of them amaze me everyday.

We did however get Audrey’s legs shaved, got her showered and hair washed this afternoon. Even with feeling a little under the weather, she was alert and helpful in all her self care! But it is Sunday and her day for rest and sleep and we certainly encourage that!

Please pray that:

1. She gets over this sick spell
2. That all insurance issues and approvals be resolved.
3. Continued brain healing,
4. Improvement in movement, muscle memory, swallowing, uses of vocal cords,
