GREEN BAY, CLEVELAND, APPLETON CLINICS CLOSED ON MONDAY, MARCH 16: Due to a winter storm, the VA clinics in Green Bay, Appleton and Cleveland will be closed on Monday, March 16. This is out of an abundance of caution for our Veterans, as the National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for the area, advising that travel will be "near impossible." Veterans with appointments will be contacted for rescheduling.

Today we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Leonardo da Vinci School to the Milo C. Huempfner VA Health Care Center 💙🇺🇸

These amazing students came out to thank our Veterans for their service, and they didn’t come empty-handed, cookies, pretzels, lemonade, and most importantly, big smiles and heartfelt thanks were generously shared.

Moments like this remind us how powerful a simple “thank you” can be. The kindness, respect, and appreciation shown today meant more than words can say to the Veterans we serve.

To the students and staff of Leonardo da Vinci School: thank you for taking the time to give back, to learn, and to show our Veterans they are remembered and appreciated. You made our day brighter!

Milwaukee, Green Bay, Appleton to participate

Members of the public can dispose of expired prescriptions, including controlled substances, at select VA facilities, on VA Medication Take Back Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.:

The public can drive through at the facility entrance to receive a pre-paid envelope used to dispose of medications through the U.S. postal service. They can also park and dispose of medications in the secure disposal receptacles at each facility.
VA is aligning with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration for this initiative. Any member of the public is welcome, whether they have any affiliation to Veterans or not.

“We are pleased to welcome non-Veteran members of our community to the VA facilities for VA Medication Take Back Day. I encourage people to dispose of old and unused prescriptions in this safe and secure manner,” said Milwaukee VA Police Chief Martin Runge.

“It’s important for each of us to clean out our medicine cabinets regularly and to dispose of medications to protect ourselves, our loved ones and our environment.”

📢 Measles alert for Oconto County residents 📢
Hey Oconto County! There’s a measles outbreak in our area, and we want to keep you safe. Measles is super contagious, so here’s what you need to know:
🛡️ Immunity Info:
• If you were born before 1957, you’re likely immune to measles and don’t need a vaccine.
• If you’ve had two doses of the MMR vaccine, you’re protected.
• Not sure? Check your vaccine records or contact your care team!
😷 Symptoms to watch for:
• High fever (over 101°F)
• Runny nose
• Cough
• Red, watery eyes
• A red rash with bumps that starts on the face and spreads to the body (usually 3-5 days after other symptoms)
🏥 What to do: If you think you have measles symptoms, don’t walk into a clinic or hospital. Call our triage line first for special instructions: 888-469-6614, option 3. This helps keep everyone safe.
💉 Get vaccinated: The MMR vaccine is the best way to prevent measles.
Let’s work together to stop the spread! Stay safe, Oconto County! 💚
