The Fox Valley Wheelchair Wash is BACK! 🦽❤️

Mark your calendars for Friday, May 8, 2026 and join us for a day filled with community, connection, and support.

Bring your power or manual wheelchair, walker, scooter, or other mobility device for a free wash followed by a safety inspection by certified Numotion technicians.

✨ Plus enjoy:
• Free lunch by the wandering table food truck for participants
•Adaptive recreation demos by Options
• A special Valley Transit Bus Experience with a travel trainer
• SINGO BINGO by Senior Solutions

Help Us Keep Independence Moving ♿

Our LEND Equipment Closet is looking a little empty right now, and we’re in urgent need of knee scooters and manual wheelchairs.

This program relies on the generosity of our community. When gently used equipment is donated, we’re able to recycle it right back into the hands of neighbors who need it most.

A donated piece of equipment can make the difference between someone unable to leave home and someone getting to appointments, work, school, or simply moving safely through daily life.

If you have a manual wheelchair or knee scooter that is no longer being used, please consider donating it to help someone in our community regain independence. ♻️💚

💙 36 years. A lifetime of advocacy. A legacy of change. ❤️

This year at Independent Living (IL) Days, we were incredibly honored to present the Maureen Ryan Award — an award recognizing a person’s lifetime contributions to the IL Movement — to our very own Assistant Director, Sandy Popp.

Sandy’s journey with Options is the heart of what independent living means. She began as a consumer, became a volunteer, and then went on to serve as receptionist, Independent Living Coordinator, Assistant Director, Interim Director, and Assistant Director once again.

For 36 years, Sandy has helped shape not only Options, but the Independent Living Movement across Wisconsin and our Nation.

She is one of the longest-standing Independent Living professionals in the state and was a delegate during the signing of the ADA. Alongside many other advocates, Sandy visited 525 legislative offices at the U.S. Capitol in a single week to help push the ADA forward.

As Stacie shared during the presentation, “Nothing about us without us” is more than a phrase.
It is more than a movement.
It is a promise.

"And when we think of someone who lives that promise every single day, we think of Sandy."

"In every meeting, every conversation, and every system she has touched, Sandy makes sure the voices that matter are not only heard — but seated at the table."

Her advocacy has created real, lasting change.

"But what makes Sandy truly extraordinary is the way she shows up for people — with heart, compassion, wisdom, and unwavering commitment. She's absolutely fabulous!" 😉

Thank you, Sandy, for the work you have done and continue to do.
We love you, and we are so proud to celebrate this well-deserved honor.

Some of the most meaningful moments happen between the sessions.

Independent Living (IL) Days is about learning, advocacy, and strengthening Independent Living across Wisconsin—but it’s also about connection.

From shared meals and meaningful conversations around the table to a little friendly competition with IL Days BINGO blackout, this time together helped spark ideas, build relationships, and bring a little extra fun to the week.

Because when we come together, we learn from one another, strengthen our network, and continue building a more inclusive future for everybody!
