Options for Independent Living Empowering People to Live Independent and Empowering Lives

11/21/2025

Are you living with a disability and wishing you had the equipment or technology that would make daily life easier?

Maybe it’s an accessible van.
Maybe it’s new hearing aids.
Maybe it’s a power wheelchair, scooter, or another assistive device that would increase your independence.

WisLoan may be able to help.

This statewide low-interest loan program—run through Independence First -gives people with disabilities the opportunity to purchase the adaptive equipment they need on their terms.

You choose what supports your independence.
This can help make it possible.

The WisLoan Program has already helped hundreds of Wisconsinites get the tools that change where they can go, how they can communicate, and how they live.

Want to see if you qualify?
📞 Call Options at 920-490-0500 and we can help you through the process.

Independence should be accessible to everyone.
We’re here to help make that happen.

The more things seem to change…the more they stay the same.

For decades, disabled advocates have carried signs saying “Nothing About Us Without Us” and “Separate Is Never Equal.” The fact that these messages still resonate today says so much about the work left to do.

People with disabilities in our communities are still being left out, overlooked, or expected to “fit into” systems that were never designed for them. And yet—every day—we see strength, resilience, and the push for something better.

At Options, we believe in a future where accessibility isn’t a favor, inclusion isn’t conditional, and disability rights are treated as the civil rights they are. But we can’t get there alone.

If you’re someone who wants to build a more inclusive Wisconsin, we invite you to join us—learn with us, advocate with us, and help create a world that removes barriers, not people!

Change happens when we raise our voices together. Let’s make sure no one is left behind.

Let’s keep pushing forward together.

📱💬 Staying Connected Matters!
Governor Evers has proclaimed November 9–15, 2025, as Social Connection Awareness Week in Wisconsin — and at Options, we’re proud to support that mission every day!

If you or someone you know could benefit from learning how to stay connected through their iPhone, reach out to us today!📱

Our iPhone Classes help older adults and people with disabilities feel confident using their smartphones — from texting family photos to joining video calls, using accessibility features, and connecting with their community.

Too often, people feel isolated simply because technology feels overwhelming or unfamiliar. But with the right tools and a little hands-on learning, those barriers can disappear — replaced with messages, laughter, and meaningful connection. 💞

💡 We offer small group classes that make learning fun, relaxed, and social — because staying connected starts with learning together!

📞 Contact Stacie Scheibe, IL Coordinator & AT Specialist at 920-393-1050 for more information!

Falls Are Preventable!

Falls are one of the leading concerns for older adults—but the good news is that many can be prevented. Most falls happen at home due to simple hazards like loose rugs, poor lighting, or cluttered walkways.

At Options, our Independent Living Supervisor and Memory Technology Specialist, Stacie Scheibe can provide tips and home safety assessments to help identify potential risks and make your home safer and more accessible.

Stay safe. Stay confident. Let’s work together to make safety a priority in your home. 🏡

📞 Call 920-393-1050 if you or a loved one would like to learn more about staying safe at home.
